In the footage, a woman is seen along with at least one person and possibly a second person shortly be- fore the first of two fires in the alley along Pine Street between Washington and Main streets. The woman, who is seen acting suspiciously includ- ing crouching as if to hide when a car drives along the street near her, has long hair is believed to be some- where between 18 and 25, Division Chief Matthew Shobash said. She is a per- son of interest in the case. Within a few minutes of the woman's appear- ance, there are some flick- ers and then a burst of fire from the first dumpster fol- lowed within about a min- ute by a second fire about 4 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9. By Julie Zeeb jzeeb@redbluffdailynews.com @DN_Zeeb on Twitter RED BLUFF The Tehama County Fireworks Committee is up and running again and ready to bring back the fireworks show in 2016 after a year's absence with the first big fundraiser set for Friday. Jennifer Zirkle of Red Bluff has taken over leadership, but still has committee founder Shannon Nason and longtime committee member Jennifer Guarino help- ing her. At the time of the last show in 2014, Zirkle was living else- where, but had traveled home wanting her children, especially her youngest who had never been to a live fireworks show, to expe- rience a small-town Fourth of July celebration, she said. About six months afterward, she moved back home and was disappointed that there was not a show planned for 2015. "I really wanted to have it again and the Elks, who are sponsor- ing us, have been amazing to work with," Zirkle said. "I'm re- ally exicted that we have quite a few events planned to help, but this show is really everyone's show. Without everyone's help it wouldn't be possible. Every dona- tion from the big ones down to every kid who puts change in the drop box matters." The group is in the process of putting out boxes in local busi- nesses throughout the county, in- cluding one at Shear Harmony on Main Street, and anyone wanting to host a box is encouraged to con- tact a committee member. The group has been out in the community, including attending the Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber of Commerce's Busi- ness Expo And Mixer Thursday, where they handed out flyers for the upcoming fundraiser, Stars and Strikes, set for noon to 11 p.m. Friday at Lariat Bowl, 365 S. Main St. For every paid game of bowl- ing or miniature golf $1 will be donated to the committee along with 25 percent of all food sales for the evening with the presenta- tion of a flyer from the committee. The flyer is available by writ- ing to TehamaCountyFireworks@ gmail.com. The hope is to hold at least one or two events a month between now and the fireworks show.
