Employers Invited to March Job Fair The Mid-Carolina Area Agency on Aging invites citizens to help develop its 2016-2020 Area Plan by completing a survey about the needs of older adults, caregivers or persons with disabilities. The survey can be found online at surveymonkey.com/r/ MC1620. It asks citizens to identify the three greatest needs or issues in your county that should be addressed by the area plan. Mid-Carolina is located on the third floor of the Historic Courthouse, 130 Gillespie St., and online at mccog.org. Mid-Carolina Council Seeks Public Input For Plan The Cumberland County Department of Public Health has received a $2,000 grant from Delta Dental Foundation's Smile for Kids program, which hopes to reduce children's anxiety about visiting the dentist and stress the importance of oral health and hygiene. The health department's Dental Clinic provides services for children from birth to 20 years of age. Services provided include exams, radiographs, hygiene education, cleanings, fluoride, sealants, fillings, extractions, space maintenance, stainless steel crowns and referrals. Payment for service is income-based, according to a sliding scale. In an effort to put children at ease about visiting a dentist, the health department's Smiles for Kids program will offer tours of the dental facility to Head Start children, who will meet the dentist and his staff. In addition, educational materials will be provided to the children to stress the importance of dental health. The clinic, located at 1235 Ramsey St., is open Monday through Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 1:30 – 5:30 p.m. For more information or to make an appointment, call 910-433-3613.
