The Broncos got a 42- yard field goal from David Treadwell to make it 7-3 and actually forced a 49ers three and out to create their one mo- ment of hope. But Denver running back Bobby Humphrey fumbled, Chet Brooks recovered for the 49ers, and that just about ended it. By halime, Montana had thrown a 7-yard touchdown to tight end Brent Jones, fullback Tom Rathman scored on a 1-yard run and Montana connected with Jerry Rice for a 38-yard score as the 49ers were in charge at 27-3. The 49ers converted those to touchdowns, with Montana hitting Rice and John Taylor. Fourth- quarter touchdown runs by Rathman and Roger Craig put the final bow on the 49ers' fourth Super Bowl title of the decade.
