The Season 46 (!) premiere opens with two back-to-back half-hour epi- sodes; subsequent Saturdays will bring a new half-hour fol- lowed by a repeat. Longtime fans will find their old friends — Cookie Monster, Elmo, Big Bird, Abby, et al. — plus some new faces as well. 8 p.m. on WBND Y Movie: The Social Network One of the best-reviewed movies of 2010, director David Fincher and Oscar-win- ning screenwriter Aaron Sor- kin's superb drama recalls the roots of Facebook through the personal experiences that prompted then-college stu- dent Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg, in an excellent, complex performance) to de- velop what morphed into the wildly popular site. Its grow- ing pains were considerable, though. Andrew Garfield, Jus- tin Timberlake and Rooney Mara also star. 8 p.m. on HBO Movie: Unfriended In this 2014 "found footage" thriller (think "The Blair Witch Project") told entirely via a high school student's Macbook screen, a teenager and her five friends become the prey of an unknown online nemesis who wants revenge for a shaming video that caused a classmate to kill herself a year earlier. Shelley Hennig ("Teen Wolf"), Heather Sossaman ("Days of Our Lives") and Renee Ol- stead ("The Secret Life of the American Teenager") star in the film, which earned mostly good reviews, especially given its genre. 9 p.m. on HALL Movie: Love on the Sidelines After he is sidelined by an in- jury that could jeopardize his long-term career prospects, superstar quarterback Danny Holland (John Reardon) is in no mood to deal with a fe- male personal assistant who knows nothing about football, but out-of-work fashion de- signer Laurel Welk (Emily Kinney) is desperate for work. After a testy beginning, the pair begins to discover com- mon ground and, in the way of most romantic comedies, soon romance is in the offing.
