10 DECEMBER 30 - JANUARY 5, 2016 WWW.UPANDCOMINGWEEKLY.COM The Greater Fayetteville Chamber has once again become a strong voice for business due to a signifi cant, renewed interest of our membership and board of directors. During the spring of 2015, the Chamber 2025 Task Force was formed and developed clear and concise recommendations in only 10 weeks. Our board of directors unanimously endorsed these recommendations. The primary recommendation was that the economic development body, the Alliance, be separated from the Chamber. This separation will take place January 1, 2016. We wish the new Fayetteville Cumberland County Economic Development Corporation much success under the leadership of its new board and Executive Director, Russ Rogerson. In addition, the Greater Fayetteville Chamber took decisive actions in a number of key areas through developing a new vision and mission statement, rebranding with a new logo, restructuring with a new board of directors half the size of prior boards, and electing new offi cers and a new President and CEO, retired Major General Rodney Anderson. The Chamber is already reengaging our membership, standing up new committees, and working daily to become the convener in our community. While our Greater Fayetteville Chamber has a proud history dating back to 1899, more importantly, we have a great future in front of us. It has been a distinct honor and privilege to serve with the members of the board of directors and to see fi rsthand the renewed spirit of our Chamber. I would like to extend to Brian Kent, incoming board chairman, the board of directors, our new President, the staff, and all of the Chamber members, every success moving forward. The runway is clear and the future is bright for our Chamber. In closing, we have a mission before us to build our Chamber for the future. We must retain, reclaim and recruit members for our Chamber. Under the leadership of our new President, the commitment of the new board of directors and the dedication of our staff, I am confi dent that we will see our Chamber grow and prosper in the years to come. Chamber Mission The Chamber will be a catalyst in growing a healthy business community through it advocacy of business friendly public policy, the fostering of diverse innovative business initiatives, through strong collaborative partnerships and delivering valuable programs and services to our members. Chamber Vision Building a prosperous and resilient community through business leadership 159 MAXWELL STREET, FAYETTEVILLE | (910) 483-8133 | FAYBIZ.COM A Special Note from the Chairman A special thanks to the staff of the Chamber for their dedication, loyalty and leadership they provide every day, of every week, all year long.
