In addition to being a past master of the lodge, Futrell also served ten years as lodge secre- tary. Vernon 143 presented an award to a very special member — Charlie Gilchrist. He was given his Veteran's Emblem for his 50 years as a member of the lodge. They also gave him a miniature sword to honor his service as tyler of the lodge. Gilchrist, left, was the first person to receive all three degrees in the lodge's present home above the Bonlee Fire Department. He is seen here with Mt. Vernon Senior Deacon Tim Willett. — Kim Beal ROBBINSVILLE — When Dillard Posey Hyde turned 98, he decided he could no longer contribute to his lodge and re- quested a demit. Robbinsville 672 members "felt his past contribution and dedication to the lodge along with [his] be- ing [their] oldest living member warranted something" more. The something more was elect- ing him to Life Membership. Seen here, Lodge Master Greg Grindstaff surprised Hyde with his dues card and certificate. — Jim Hyde DEEP RUN — Pleasant Hill 304 has made Past Grand Master Dalton Mayo an honorary member. He is seen here, left, receiving the honor from Raymond Turner. — Rick Stroud SWANSBORO — On August 10, Seaside 429 has named William N. Thacker, right, their Mason of the Year. David C.
