Green 735 was held October 23. ey were offering dine-in or takeout for eight dollars a plate. — James B. Green Lodge September was hopping for William T. Bain 231. ey initiated three on the ninth, passed two on the 14 th , and raised five on the 28 th . ey held their 19 th Annual Golf Tournament September 23 at Pine Burr Golf Course in Lillington. Bain Lodge celebrated their 150 th birthday October 24. ey cooked a pig, had a bounce house for the kids, a blue- grass band, and giveaways throughout the day. — Ben Hart and Chris Mills Weaverville Blackmer 170 held their annual fall barbecue September 12. ey sold 290 plates ey were splitting the proceeds between the Home for Children and the lodge building fund. — Terry Gevedon Vance 293 was having their Past Masters', Widows,' and Awards Night on October 10. eir barbecue supper was also a charity fundraiser. — Terry Gevedon Cary e Annual Fall Barbecue at Cary 198 was set for November 6. Scheduled for the grills were 1,500 pounds of pork shoulders. — Benton W. Oakes Jr. Green Level 277 was holding their annual fish fry September 18. Tickets were eight dollars. Proceeds were for the MESH Foundation and the Home for Children. — Ludwik Wodka Spruce Pine Vesper 554's sole fundraiser this year was a gun raffle. ey sold tickets for ten dollars each, three for $25. ey termed the raffle, which drew its winner September 26, a "tremendous financial success." Earnings went to the Masonic Home for Children. — Newsletter Fayetteville On November 14, Phoenix 8 hosted Robert Herd at their 227 th Anniver- sary Table Lodge. Herd is a nation- ally known author and editor. Phoenix Lodge's annual table lodge is a black-tie banquet. At their October 13 meeting, Ben Wallace presented a program entitled "From Time Immemorial." White- Stone Administrator Mark Kolada up- dated the lodge on the latest happen- ings at our retirement home. — 17 th Masonic District Yanceyville ings are picking up at Caswell Brotherhood 11. After a long candi- date dry spell, the lodge raised two new Masons October 8. Both John Pointer and Alston Lucas are North Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers. — Michael Adkins Smithfield Fellowship 84 has started feeding at all regular meetings. ey're hoping it will stimulate interest and attendance. — Grover Dees Pilot Mountain Pilot 493 held their Annual Ma- sonic Widows' Dinner at the Mountain View Restaurant on August 13. — e Pilot Mountain Traveler Wake Forest Wake Forest 282 held their 5K race again September 19. Everyone who fin- ished the race at Joyner Park received a commemorative t-shirt and medal. Money raised through the run went to help the Masonic Home for Children. — Jordan Horst Princeton St. Patrick's 617 celebrated their cen- tennial October 3. ey spent the Sat- urday afternoon with food and games (including cornhole, three-legged races and tug-of-war). It was all free and all fun for the family. — Brent Evans Union Grove Grassy Knob 471 held a turkey shoot October 10. ey were raising money for Union Grove Elementary School and Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County. — Tom Gregory Belmont Belmont 627 held a Boston Butt Barbecue Sale November 7. ey were selling the 10–12-pound butts with a pint of homemade sauce for $35. Pro- ceeds were for the Masonic Home for Children. — Mike Harvey Deep Run Pleasant Hill 304 held their Pancake and Sausage Fundraiser Supper Sep- tember 18. — Lynn Hill Youngsville Youngsville 377 and other brothers from around the 13 th Masonic District hosted a picnic at the Home for Chil- dren on September 12. — Dean Mooney Marble Marble Springs 439 hosted a fish fry fundraiser September 12. ey were making money for the Masonic Homes. — Greg Allred Mount Holly Past masters of Mount Holly 544 were put to work July 25 during the lodge's Past Masters Degree. Past Grand Master Rick Moore was among their most illustrious past masters in attendance. — Dewayne Gore Fathers Day observance VANCEBORO — Vanceboro 433 Master John Gray held a Fathers Day Break- fast on Saturday, June 20 to promote "fellowship of the lodge." — R. Terry Smith West Bend family fun LEWISVILLE — Masonry is a family affair in many lodges. It's certainly the case at West Bend 434. On July 15, West Bend raised a new Rothrock — Aaron Rothrock, son of West Bend Master Chris Rothrock. Chris packed the roster for the Third Degree with other family members. Chris said, "It was very special to have my son John in the South, my Brother Zack conduct him, and my Dad and me raise him. Not many times in life can a man sit in Lodge with three generations of his family."
