8A Daily News – Saturday, April 14, 2012 Religion Faith&Worship Missionaries to be at Abundant Life Fellowship Church news Worry the thief breaks the law of peace I love the way Jesus always has a way of asking very simple questions that carry with them extremely power- ful truths. So many of us are familiar with this question Jesus asks, "Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?" Unfortunately, so many peo- ple never learn how to journey through this life worry free. Missionaries Dan and Aylin Fick will be guest speakers at Abundant Life Fellowship, 21080 Luther Road, on Sunday, April 15, at both the 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. services. Dan graduated from Christ For The Nations Bible School in 2001 and moved to Sucre, Bolivia as a full-time missionary in 2003. He met and married his wife, Aylin, there in 2007 and they are the parents of three-year-old twins Benji and Beth. They pastor the Piedra Vive Church in Sucre. There are now four churches in this organization. The public is invited to come and hear what God is doing in Bolivia. Courtesy photo Teen Challenge Sunday Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge will be at Neigh- borhood Full Gospel Church, corner of First and South streets, in Corning at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 15. The Teen Challenge International ministry was begun in 1958 in New York City by Rev. David Wilk- erson. It has now evolved into an international Christ- ian organization with over one thousand centers around the world. of worry can add anything to your life, physically or spiritually, but the fact is that worry is a thief. One of the many definitions of worry is this: worry shakes and mangles with teeth. Too often people allow worry to get a hold of them. Worry starts with a lit- tle thought here and a little thought there about a situation. As we allow thoughts to grow in our minds, then worry will sink its teeth in and become a stronghold in our lives. It can literal- ly take over much of our thinking. Worry adds nothing good or prof- itable to our lives but instead it pro- duces anxiety, anxiousness, and dis- tress. If worry is not stopped it will rob a person of joy, peace, sleep, health and many good days, months, and even years of one's life. Worry is the devil's tool and he uses it to steal all he can from people. He shows no mercy. God, however, has a law that can stop worry from robbing us. It is called the Law of Peace. The truth of the matter is no amount have in your life. When it comes to the peace of God surpassing our under- standing, there's really only one way to Peace is such an amazing thing to First of all Phil.4:6 instructs, "Do not be anx- ious for anything but to pray and let our requests be made known to God." Notice the "to God" part. Paul did not say to go tell everyone all about your problems. The reason for that is the more you talk about problems the bigger they seem to get. Besides that, remember that our help only comes from the Lord. Now, when it comes to peace many people are missing it in the area of what they allow their minds to think on. If you violate this part of God's law and let your thoughts go wild, peace will stay locked up and never be manifested in your life. Remember, God's laws are for our good. God tells us exactly what we are to think on. Phil 4:8, "For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on release it...Gods way. As we follow His laws and instructions then the peace that resides in us (Gal. 5:22) will be mani- fested. them]." As we come in line with God's law and practice, His principles prevail in our lives. As we follow Him in the realm of what we are to be thinking on, and what we are not to allow in our minds, this law will unlock limitless amounts of peace in our lives! Larry Jensen GodTalk have only two choices when worry comes to rob us: Believing the devil and his lies or believing God and His word. in the finished work of Christ and what He says in His word. I choose to think on and magnify my God and His greatness, not my problems. God's will is not for us to be anxious or restless about anything - our health, kids, money, time, jobs, church, friends, ministry...but His will is for us to walk in the peace that surpasses our own understanding. It all boils down to a choice - what do you believe about the given situation? We Speak Life I refuse to worry, but choose to rest Larry Jensen and his wife, Chaunda, have lived in Red Bluff for 20 years and are founders of Jensen Ministries. They are Missionary Evangelists, traveling to churches all over Northern California, Nevada and Oregon. E-mail Larry at lrjensen@sbcglobal.net. Southern Gospel concert set May 1 While the ministry began with a focus on teen-aged gang members, Teen Challenge now reaches men and women of any age with any life-controlling problem. Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge began in 1974 and now oversees an array of community outreaches besides operating four residential centers where over 90 men and women 18 years of age and older can reside while they undergo the 13-16 month Christian-life training program. Needy minors are referred to centers who care for minors only. For more information call Neighborhood Church at 824-2323. ship invites members of the community to attend the classes of "Parenting by Grace-A Biblical Concept of Raising Children", which is being led by Carol Bohrer. These classes are held at 5 p.m. Sundays at Berren- dos Middle School, 401 Chestnut Ave, Red Bluff. Free child care is available at the same location, during this time. Parenting classes Pastor John Bohrer of the Antelope Home Fellow- Family will be giving a free concert at 6:30 p.m. on May 1 at First Church of God, 1005 S. Jackson St., in Red Bluff with Heartsong as the opening act. A Love Offering will be taken. The Collingsworth This 6 piece family group transitioned into an all-concert ministry in 2000. The two oldest daughters are proficient in violin; mother, Kim Collingsworth is world reknown for her "mastery of the piano". They will all be playing as well as singing at each concert. This family ensemble has performed all over the world, is on the latest "Homecoming video at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN" at Bill Gaither's request. They have multiple CD's Video releases, including recording with the Flint Symphony Orchestra on High Definition by Gaither Television Pro- ductions. Phil and Kim Collingsworth feel that their concert success and continued ministry is because of their empha- sis on "Prayer".
