Χ Ω MU NEWS Χ Ω Chi Omega Association P.O. Box 23872 Oakland, CA 94623 Address Service Requested W ith high school friends already members of Chi Omega, Tracy Lindow, Xi Gamma '82 came to Michigan State University with Xi Gamma chapter in mind. The women she met were warm and welcoming; it didn't take long for Tracy to find a home within Chi Omega. The sisterhood of Xi Gamma chapter helped Tracy grow and develop as a college student. "Living with a large group of women expanded my social skills," Tracy said. "Most of my jobs have had considerable social interaction with a variety of different people." As an undergraduate at Michigan State University, Tracy studied communication, but would pursue many different careers. She now works as a senior wine educator and lab technician at Domaine Carneros Winery in Napa Valley. "I was looking for a career transition a number of years ago, and merlot grapes were planted in my new backyard," Tracy said. She decided to go back to school to study viticulture, the science of grape growing; enology, the science of wine making; and wine marketing. Tracy has tried to stay in touch with her Chi Omega sisters since transitioning from an undergraduate to an alumna. "I enjoy getting together with my Chi Omega sisters, and we still have fun for spring break in Florida," Tracy said. Through Facebook, it has become easier for Tracy to stay connected to her sisters, wherever they may be. "Some of my closest friends to this day are my sorority sisters," Tracy said. Though Tracy lives near Mu Chapter, she hasn't been able to be as involved with Chi Omega as an alumna, but has enjoyed getting to know area Chi Omega sisters over the years. "I have a goofy work schedule and work weekends, so I haven't been able to do much with the alumnae chapter out here," Tracy said, "But in September, I went to a game viewing at the chapter house for the first time and it was a pleasure to see the Mu house, meet some alumnae, and the girls." Tracy has two sons: Jeff, who is a student at St. Mary's College in Moraga, California, and Nick, who is a student at the University of Arizona. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and trying new foods. Tracy says, "It's been wonderful to have the friendships of my sisters for all of these years."
