I
n 2011, a group of alumni leaders met to discuss Lambda Chi
Alpha returning to the NC State campus. One of the first hurdles
to clear was retiring the debt owed to the University from the
Chapter's closing. Within a few weeks, a handful of Gamma Upsilon
alumni gave generously to settle that debt. To stake their claim for
housing, the alumni leadership wanted to secure a lot for Lambda Chi
in the new NC State Greek Village. Within 24 hours of announcing our
intentions, Gamma Upsilon had secured the necessary $25,000 deposit.
Conversations continued with the National Fraternity and the
University as we found men to serve as advisors and mentors to the
revived Chapter. On April 28, 2013, Gamma Upsilon Zeta initiated 61
founding fathers. Since that time, the Chapter has continued to grow
and was recently recognized by the University as the top Fraternity
at NC State.
Simply put, Gamma Upsilon has completed every challenge that we've
faced over the past five years. Passionate alumni from all eras have
stayed connected to each other and committed to our brotherhood. We
now embark on a new challenge that will ultimately cement all that we
have achieved to date. In the following pages, you will read about a
new home for Lambda Chi Alpha that we will own and operate within
the new NC State Greek Village. This community promises to be the
hub of activity for Greek life and for future generations of Wolfpack
students. Over the past year, a select number of alumni have made
our LegAcy of exceLLence
transformational, leadership commitments to get this project started.
We now ask you to consider a major and sustaining contribution to
ensure our legacy of excellence continues.
