4 Gamma Crescent Gamma Chapter BroadenS horizonS, aChieveS GreatneSS M y name is Sarp Engelman, and I am the noble ruler for the 2015 calendar year. Gamma Chapter is doing better than ever. We are broadening our horizons and making progress to achieve many of the goals we have set forth. Gamma is now creating a greater number of better men than ever, with a record number of active brothers. Including our new members, we have reached 100 brothers! Our chapter has excelled in many areas, including philanthropy, academics, and athletics. The active brothers and alumni of Gamma Chapter have gone above and beyond to make this chapter successful. Gamma Chapter is one of the leading members of the Penn State Greek community. I would like to congratulate all the members of Gamma Chapter on their hard work, and I hope we can achieve even more greatness in the future. Fraternally, Sarp Engelman '13 (Γ1651) Noble Ruler (631) 873-6569 sarp.engelman@psu.edu (Left) Adam LaCaria '13 (Γ1640) received the 2015 Martin Rockwell Award, which was handed off by Bill Nichol '50 (Γ603). House Improvements Continue, Gamma Chapter Legacy Remains T he actives continue to uphold and better our house. This summer, brothers Mckenzie Gary '13 (Γ1626), Peter Majewski '13 (Γ1653), and I volunteered our time and constructed a new bench that wraps around the deck. The project took approximately four days and many long hours in the summer sun. It fits nicely onto our deck, which was built by brothers in 2014. It is almost instinctive to sit down on the bench, and most brothers are in disbelief that we did not build this addition earlier. It will certainly be enjoyed by actives and alumni for years to come. Other summer projects included the installation of new shower curtains and rods. During this school year, brothers have continued their commitments to the house's betterment by replacing the old carpets with new hardwood floors. We have also replaced our broken fryers and ice machine with new, state-of-the-art equipment. We thank all of our alumni for the continued support of our house, its betterment, and Gamma's future successes. Finances on Track T his semester finances are in good shape, and the budget for fall 2015 has been finalized. The total house bill for fall 2015 was $4,800. Spending has been moving at an appropriate pace so far, and in-house dues are set to increase in the spring 2016 semester while out-of-house dues are likely to decrease.
