Samantha Smith and Paul Eckels, both of Los Molinos, were married in a double ring ceremony Sept. 19 at the Gunn res- idence in Chico by Man- cill Tiss. Smith is the daughter of Bill and Sandi Smith of Brentwood. Eckels is the son of Marvin and Gayla Eckels of Red Bluff. The Maid of Honor was Collene Spiridonoff, the bride's sister and bridesmaids werre Beth- any Denning, groom's sister; Nikki Eckels, groom's sister; Elizabeth Barrett and Theresa Ev- ans. Junior bridesmaids were Jacqueline and Maddie Denning, the groom's nieces. The Best Man Jeff Sch- reiber and the groom's at- tendants were Rick Den- ning, Keith Nichols, Ol- iver Gunn and Angel Arballo. Flower girls were Macey Denning, the groom's niece and Gen- esis Arballo. The ring bearer was Landon Denning, the groom's nephew. The bride is a 2005 graduate of Liberty High School and attended Butte College. She is employed at Italian Cottage in Chico. The groom is a 2004 graduate of Mercy High School and 2007 gradu- ate of College of the Sis- kiyous. He is employed at Earl's Plumbing in Chico. Collisions PaskentaandLuther roads: A collision Friday resulted in one minor injury. Bridgette Fridel was stop- ping at a stop sign on Luther Road preparing to make a le turn onto Paskenta Road. James Gilles was on Paskenta turning le onto Luther when Fridel pulled out in front of Gilles. Fridel's vehicle had moderate front end damage and Gilles' vehicle had major le side damage and he suffered minor injuries. Interstate 5, north of Sunset Hills: A Washington man, Jose Gomez, was driv- ing a 2016semi truck in the second lane when Dustin Porter veered into his lane. Porter, of Redding, then lost control of his vehicle when he tried to veer back into his lane. He ran off the road and rolled over. Porter's passen- ger complained of pain but sought her own aid. Gomez's vehicle had minor damage to both sides. Arrests David Love: 61, was arrested and booked into Tehama County Jail Thursday on charges of kidnapping and inflicting corporal injury to a spouse. Bail was set at $100,000. Ricky Davenport: 24, was arrested and booked Friday on charges of arson of an in- habited structure or property, criminal threats, cruelty to an elder or dependent adult and assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $380,000. Noe Cruz: 33, was arrested and booked Friday on a charge of criminal threats. Bail was set at $50,000. Christoper Valenzuela: 24, was arrested and booked Fri- day on a charge of providing the police a false persona and identification. Bail was set at $30,000. Porfirio Flores: 25, was ar- rested and booked Saturday on charges of first degree residential burglary and failing to appear a er written prom- ise. No bail was set. John Farmer: 38, was ar- rested and booked Saturday on a charge of burglary. Bail was set at $18,000. Shots South Jackson Street and Luther Road: Shots were reportedly fired Saturday from a vehicle. Occupants inside a white vehicle fired six to seven shots from a handgun into the air as the vehicle traveled southbound on South Jackson Street. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle. The El Cerrito Drive: James Kiger reported that some- time between Thursday and Friday night an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his iPod and MP3Player. Estimated loss of $230. Mobile Drive Trailer Park, Corning: Officers were dispatched Sunday to the park at the intersection of Marguerite Avenue and Fig Lane. Officers located a woman who stated her ve- hicle had been shot at while parked at her residence. No parties were injured during the shooting and the inves- tigation is ongoing. 15000block of Dorado Drive: The the more than a month ago of a trailer for a lawn tractor was reported Saturday. The trailer was valued at $450. 100block of Chestnut Avenue: A camera bag containing a camera and accessories was reported stolen Saturday. The value of loss was $500. POLICE LOGS The trustees of Le- land Stanford University, which owns the big Stan- ford ranch at Vina, and W. G. Strimmel, super- intendent of the ranch, are made defendants in a damage suite for $25,200 filed in the superior court of Tehama county Tuesday by the family of Alexan- der Brown. Readers of the News will remember that Brown was working with others clearing away the debris of the fire that de- stroyed the Stanford Win- ery when a brick wall, left standing after the fire, fell and caught Brown, crush- ing and injuring him so that he died the same af- ternoon. — Nov. 17, 1915 100 YEARS AGO... It challenges them to think about drinking, driving, personal safety, the responsibility of mak- ing mature decisions and the impact their decisions have on family, friends and others. This year the CHP will partner with the Red Bluff Police Department to bring this very impact- ful program to Red Bluff High School. "This program is a great opportunity to ed- ucate our young adults about the extreme risks of drinking and then driv- ing; and to also experi- ence the results of this poor decision", said Red Bluff CHP Area Com- mander Lt. Lou Aviles. "Our own community has been affected by our teens drinking and driv- ing resulting in tragedy and lives lost." The event will take place at the end of the school year in May 2016.
