Maywood band Shasta College Agriculture Leaders advisor Trena Richards accompanied 14 Shasta College Ag students to Clovis to compete in the Agriculture Leaders Spring Competition. The competition allows agriculture students at Cali- fornia Community Colleges to compete in events such as job interview, team marketing, and college quiz bowl. The following students participated: Callie Wolver- ton, Garrett Wallis, Cain Madrigal, Savanah Newsom, Melissa Simpson, Mike Kling, Cassondra Duncan, Kayleigh Mincer, Maigen Matteucci, Kelsey Simon- sen, Kendra Gerkhardt, Scott Faure, Ashton Hubbard, and Mike Vonk. Courtesy photo The Maywood Cougar Band performed, March 16, for the California Music Educators Music Festival in the Ruth Roland Recital Hall at CSU, Chico.The Band received an Excellent rating from three pro- fessional judges. Music teacher Dan Kinkle was very pleased with the performance and the behavior exhibited by the students. Danielle Gal- legos was praised by the judges for her exem- plary flute playing.
