Undergraduates Welcome 96 New Members, Raise $17,535 for Alzheimer's D elta Upsilon welcomed 96 new members into our sisterhood! This year was the biggest recruitment on Missouri State University's campus. We are so incredibly thankful for all of your support and donations throughout recruitment and could not have recruited these wonderful members without your support. This semester has been a whirlwind for our chapter; with a different event almost every weekend, life has been anything but boring. This September, Delta Upsilon participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Members woke up at 6 a.m. on a chilly Saturday morning to volunteer. In addition to volunteering their time, our chapter raised a grand total of $17,535. We far surpassed our goal of $15,000 and couldn't have done it without our wonderful VP of philanthropic services, Lindsey Baumgarth '13! With 96 new members, the Big/Little reveal was nothing short of exciting. This year, VP of New Member Education Morgan Biggie '14 put together an exciting fall-themed reveal. Each Big carved a pumpkin uniquely for her Little; the top was given to the new members and they were prompted to find their Big in the pumpkin patch on the front yard. The Bigs eagerly awaited under blankets with pumpkins in their laps, and on the count of three were revealed. Afterward, we had a late-night showing of Hocus Pocus on the front lawn. Looking forward, Delta Upsilon is excited for the remaining social and philanthropic events planned this semester, as well as strengthening the bonds of our Sigma Kappa sisterhood. As always, feel free to reach out and stop by the chapter house anytime!
