GLEANERS Food distribution dates California State Uni- versity, Chico will once again host a special event on campus saluting veter- ans prior to the Veterans Day holiday, Wednesday, Nov. 11. "Honoring Our Veter- ans" will take place 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mon- day, Nov. 9 in Colusa Hall, 100A. Admission is free and the public is encour- aged to attend. All faculty, staff, stu- dent, alumni and commu- nity member veterans will be honored at the event for their dedicated service to our country. Guest speak- ers will include CSU, Chico President Paul Zingg and student veterans Kenneth Kelso, Megan Monokian and James Smith. Larry Langwell, coordinator of Veterans Affairs at CSU, Chico, will serve as mas- ter of ceremonies. Activities will include a musical tribute to all the military branches and a special cake-cutting cere- mony involving the young- est and oldest veterans in attendance. CHICO STATE Ca mp us t o ho st e ve nt honoring veterans By Colten Leonard The Tehama County Dep- uty Sheriff Association and The Tehama County Rural Crime Task Force donated $1,000 to the Red Bluff FFA Forestry team to help send the students to the National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. The Forestry Team and the Red Bluff FFA Chap- ter would sincerely like to thank the Tehama County Deputy Sheriff Association and the Tehama County Rural Crime Task Force for their generosity. "Their generous donation helped myself and my team- mates achieve what we have been striving to reach for the past 3 years," said team member Reed Pritchard.
