Crawford '48 entered Chapter Eter- nal on February 25. He began his career work- ing for Dillon's Grocery Store Corporation, lat- er working for IGA Grocery Corporation before opening a restaurant franchise. Upon retirement, he worked in the social security court system until his death. Bill and his wife of 38 years, Lyn, loved traveling and were able to visit 29 countries and 82 cities. They enjoyed theatre and the symphony. When not traveling, Bill enjoyed gardening, play- ing bridge, making stained glass, playing with their dog, Schnitzel, and spending time with his daughters, Lynnette, Denise, Julie, and Penny, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Rodney M. Gillespie '64 entered Chapter Eter- nal March 3 in St. Joseph at age 73. Rod was engaged in farming and had a custom spraying operation for many years until the farm crisis of the late 1980s. During the 1970s and early '80s, he also owned and operated a Sears catalog store and Gillespie Automotive. In addition, Rod held a real estate broker's license and sold real estate for Scott & Gillespie Real Estate, then Gillespie Real Estate, and later Prudential Summers Real Estate. Rod had many, many friends. He never knew a stranger and he helped many in numerous ways. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Nancy VanHoozer Gillespie; daughters Tonya and Tara (Scott); grandsons Cash and Jesse; granddaughter Whitney; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dudley C. Alumni Weekend 2015 A Success T hank you to the alumni and family who came out for alumni weekend 2015. More than 200 alumni enjoyed cocktails at the Indus- try on Friday night, a tailgate and Mizzou foot- ball game on Saturday, followed by a post-game hog roast. We discussed plans and questions about the campaign, and were excited about the enthusiastic alumni response!
