NEW BUSINESS Peripheral neuropathy treatment available The Veterans Day Parade will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 on So- lano Street. There will be a short pro- gram at the Veterans Me- morial Hall at 11:30 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. The lunch will be served by the Corning Exchange Club and will include salad, beans and tri-tip sandwich for $7. Anyone interested in en- tering the parade can call Dennis Wyman at 526-4736. New member The Corning Chamber welcomes new member Corning Chinese, 1944 So- lano St. in Corning, 824- 3482. The restaurant is under new ownership and will be open 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 4 for its grand opening. Harvest Dinner The Knights of Colum- bus is hosting a dinner and dance 6-10:30 p.m. Satur- day, Nov. 7 at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Corning. The dinner will be 6-7:30 p.m. and there is a choice of tri-tip or chicken. Live mu- sic provided by Main Street Band from 7-10:30 p.m. Tickets for adults is $15 and children $8. There will be a 50/50 raffle. All pro- ceeds go to support local community projects and scholarships. For ticket information contact Steve Bradley at 736-8313. Office closed The chamber office and City Hall will be closed to observe Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 9. National Retriever Championships Starting Sunday Nov. 8, and continuing through Saturday Nov. 14, the 2015 National Retriever Cham- pionships will take place at Clear Creek Sports Club. The event is open to the public every day and you are encouraged to come and observe. There will be food available on site and the tests are very gallery friendly. All events will be at Clear Creek Sport Club behind Rolling Hills Casino and Resort. The National Retriever Club is committed to the best interests of retriev- ers in encouraging the best practices in training, breed- ing and promoting these wonderful animals. The club would like to thank the many landowners for opening their properties for pre-national training. The competing dogs need to acclimate to the California conditions and cannot train on the official trial grounds for 30 days prior to the trial. Labor law seminar The Tehama County Em- ployer Advisory Council in partnership with the Em- ployment Development Department present An- nual Labor Law Seminar 8:15 a.m. to noon Wednes- day, Nov. 18 at the Tehama County Department of Edu- cation Library 1135 Lincoln St., Red Bluff. There will be an over- view of the new legislation and legal developments af- fecting labor and employ- ment laws for 2015-2016, in- cluding updates on subjects such as: Paid Family Leave, Minimum Wage, Equal Pay, Salary history for applica- tions, Overtime laws, E-ver- ify to screen applicants, and Mandatory arbitration. Veterans Day Parade set for next week REDDING Shasta College Agriculture and Natural Re- sources department and the Shasta County Department of Agriculture plan to offer spraycalibrationtrainingfor pesticide applicators. The training will be 8 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 20. in room 4000 on the Shasta College Farm, 11555 Old Or- egon Trail, Redding. This training will cover how to calibrate boom and backpack type spray equip- ment, common calibration mistakes and laws relating to calibration. The train- ing has been approved by DPR for 4.0 hours of con- tinuing education credit — 1.5 hours laws and 2.5 other hours — for Pesticide Ap- plicators, PCA and other license's holders needing CEUs from Department of Pesticide Regulation.
