Since being sentenced, the defendant repeatedly vi- olated the terms of his pro- bation. In December 2014, the defendant admitted his first violation of probation, which included failing to re- port to jail, failing to report to Probation, failing to pro- vide a current address, and absconding. People vs. Daniel Allen Reeves, Grand Theft-Access Card. Brief history: On August 30, 2011, the defendant pled guilty to charging approxi- mately $8,000 to his former employer's gas card after be- ing fired, and was placed on three years probation. Since being sentenced, the defen- dant repeatedly violated the terms of his probation. In October 2012, the defendant admitted his first violation ofprobationforsubmittinga positivedrugtest.InSeptem- ber 2015, the defendant was again found in violation af- ter failing to complete court- ordered community service, failing to contact Probation, and absconding. Sentencedto16monthslo- cal prison. People vs. Richard An- gel Pulido, Corporal Injury to Cohabitant After a Prior Conviction. Brief history: The victim is engaged to the defendant and is nine weeks pregnant. On January 27, 2015, the vic- tim went to pick up the de- fendant. The defendant was drunk and angry with the victim and punched her in the throat. When they ar- rived home, he grabbed the victimbythehairandpulled her up the stairs while she was carrying her two-year- oldchild.Thedefendantthen punched the victim in the jaw, causing her to fall to the ground. The defendant then got on top of her, punched her five more times on both sides of the jaw, and covered her mouth to keep her from screaming for help. The de- fendant went to prison in 2012 for the same offense. Sentenced to 2 years, 6 months state prison. People vs. Shin Ho Lee, Meeting Minor for Lewd Purposes. Brief history: The 31-year- olddefendantbegancommu- nicating with the victim he met online in October 2013. The victim claimed she was 17 years old, but was actu- ally only 14. The defendant arranged a meeting for him tocometoRedBluffandper- formsexualactswiththevic- tim. In December 2013, the defendant traveled from Ir- vine, California to Red Bluff, and took the victim to a lo- calhotelwheretheyengaged in sexual activities. The fol- lowing day he took her back to the hotel to engage in sex- ual activities, which he also video recorded. Sentenced to 5 years state prison. RecentCountyJail Commitments: People vs. Jesse Estrella, Annoying Phone Calls. Brief history: On April 20, the defendant left the victim avoicemailthreateningtogo to her home and stab her in the neck. The defendant fur- thermakesthestatementshe will "die at his hands." Sentenced to 90 days jail. People vs. Don Carl Hill, Second Degree Commercial Burglary. Brief history: On July 22, the defendant broke out a window of Harvey's Mar- ket in Proberta. The defen- dant then climbed through the window and stole multi- ple items. When deputies ar- rived, they observed the de- fendant standing outside, next to the market. The de- fendantwascoveredinblood and had several cuts consis- tent with being caused by broken glass. The defendant denied involvement in the burglary; however the mar- ket's surveillance video cap- tured the entire incident. Brief history: On August 4, Officers contacted the de- fendant after receiving a call he was selling fraudu- lent Walmart gift cards out of his car, which was parked in the Burger King Parking lot. After running the vehi- cle'slicenseplate,theofficers determined the vehicle was reported stolen out of Mo- lalla, Oregon. Inside the ve- hicle, officers located multi- ple items belonging to the registered owner, including her purse, wallet, and regis- tration paperwork. Sentenced to 3 years pro- bation, 120 days jail, fines, and 80 hours community service. People vs. Jiang Ming Zhang, Transportation of Marijuana. Brief history: The defen- dant was the driver of a ve- hicle stopped on State Route 36W for driving erratically. Whenthedeputyapproached the vehicle to speak with the occupants, he immediately detected the strong odor of marijuana. During a search ofthevehicle,47bagsofmar- ijuana,weighingroughlyone pound each were located in the trunk. The defendant admitted being paid $3,000 cash to transport the mari- juana. Sentenced to 3 years pro- bation,90daysjail,andfines. People vs. Yao Lin, Acces- sory After the Fact. Brief history: The defen- dant was the passenger of a vehicle stopped on State Route 36W for driving er- ratically. When the deputy approached the vehicle to speak with the occupants, he immediately detected the strong odor of marijuana. During a search of the ve- hicle, 47 bags of marijuana, weighingroughlyonepound each were located in the trunk.Thedefendantadmit- ted being paid $3,000 cash to transport the marijuana. Sentenced to 3 years pro- bation,90daysjail,andfines. People vs. Myra Arteaga, Child Abuse. Brief history: The victim's grandmother went to de- fendant's home to check on the victim, the defendant's three-month old infant son, and received no answer. The grandmother was able to gain access to the residence and found the victim barely breathing and running a fe- ver of 103.2 degrees. The de- fendant was asleep in the home and refused to get the victim any medical atten- tion. The grandmother took the victim to the emergency room, where he was admit- ted for dehydration, urinary tract infections and respira- tory infections. The victim also tested positive for opi- ates, amphetamines, meth- amphetamines,andcodeine. Sentenced to 5 years pro- bation, 270 days jail, fines, and 80 hours community service. People vs. Phillip Showal- ter, Violation of Parole. Brief history: The defen- dant is on Parole for a 2014 felony drug conviction. On August 4, the defendant was arrested for being a parolee at large. Upon his release the following day, he was ordered to contact the Red Bluff Parole Unit. The defen- dant failed to report as di- rected and his whereabouts remained unknown until he was arrested on the warrant October 10. Sentenced to 135 days jail. Peoplevs.AlexSeals,Man- ufacturingaControlledSub- stance Other than PCP. Brief history: The defen- dant was the driver of a ve- hicle pulled over for an ob- structed rear license plate. The defendant was arrested after admitting marijuana inside the vehicle, and a searchyieldedapproximately 2.2poundsofprocessedmar- ijuanaand.95poundsofcon- centrated cannabis. While the defendant was still in custody, agents executed a search warrant at defen- dant's home and found ev- idence of a hash oil lab, in- cluding Pyrex dishes, bu- tane bottles, 32 marijuana plants, 160 pounds of mari- juana trimmings, trimming scissors,extractiontubesand numerous scales with hash oil residue. Sentenced to 3 years pro- bation, 180 days jail, and 80 hours community service. People vs. Jeremy Dryden, Maintaining Place for Sell- ing or Using Controlled Sub- stance. Brief history: The de- fendant was the passen- ger of a vehicle contain- ing 2.2 pounds of processed marijuana and .95 pounds of concentrated cannabis. When agents later executed a search warrant at the driv- er'shome,thedefendantwas there and admitted his fin- gerprints might be on some of the extraction tubes at the residence. During the search of the property, agents lo- cated evidence of a hash oil lab. Sentenced to 3 years pro- bation,30daysjail,andfines. People vs. Peter Michael Dobrec, Criminal Threats. Brief history: The defen- dantwasdrivingdrunkwith his12year-old-soninthecar. The son sent his mother a text message, and the moth- er'sfriendcalled911.Officers located the defendant at a gas station and determined his blood alcohol content was .20/.019%. The defen- dantwasarrestedfordriving under the influence and re- peatedlymadestatementson his way to jail that his son's mother and her friend bet- ter "watch their backs" be- cause they would be in trou- ble when he got out. Brief history: The De- fendant was arrested and charged with the murder of a 14 year old victim who had been reported missing when she never returned home from school. Brief history: The Victim had met up with the three Defendantsregardingmoney that was allegedly owed to the victim. During this con- frontation the victim was chased down and shot twice with a shotgun. The victim died as a result of his inju- ries.
