Oklahoma Beta Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon page 3 Undergraduates Proudly Provide for Future Brothers Active Chapter Members Pledge $375,000 to Campaign A s winners of the 2015 President's Trophy, Oklahoma Beta undergraduates have proven their commitment to the success of SigEp at OU. Although this accolade is extremely impressive, it is the bond of brotherhood and commitment to the future that sets Oklahoma Beta apart from other organizations. The Oklahoma Beta Chapter has selflessly and quite remarkably pledged $375,000 to the campaign. A gift of this magnitude is likely the largest undergraduate contribution to a fraternity campaign to have ever occurred. "We want to show alumni that we are just as committed to the chapter moving forward as they are," explains Chapter President Jack Jamison '16. The active chapter has worked diligently to establish SigEp as one of the premier chapters on campus, and they hope that their campaign contribution will continue this positive momentum, even years after they graduate from Oklahoma. The chapter house renovation aims to enhance the pride that members and alumni already feel for Oklahoma Beta. The undergraduate brothers look forward to improved study and workout spaces, which will better develop two of SigEp's principles, sound mind and sound body. "Improvements like these puts Oklahoma Beta in the position to create membership experiences even better than our own, which truly energizes our brotherhood," Jack says. The active chapter's contribution reflects their love for Oklahoma Beta and their commitment to the future of the fraternity. They invite you to join them in setting an example for subsequent brothers to continue the tradition of excellence among Sigma Phi Epsilon members. Please consider your gift today and enhance the future of Oklahoma Beta. This summer, Oklahoma Beta undergraduates studied abroad throughout the world, held internships at some of the nation's top companies, and continued to live out the ritual wherever life took them. We enter this semester with great momentum, as we ranked second overall in GPA among all OU fraternities this past spring with a 3.17 GPA. We have our sights set on making our chapter GPA even better this semester. We are also extremely excited to embark on the Red Door Renaissance Campaign, which will usher in vital renovations thanks to alumni and undergraduate contributions. The renovations will continue to enhance the member experience, allowing brothers to have more access to study spaces, a workout area, and expanded common areas on the first floor. This semester we will continue to develop to our pledgeship model with the implementation of a mentorship program where freshmen are paired with a senior member at the beginning of the semester. This peer-mentor relationship will occur in addition to our big brother tradition. As a result of working with SigEp Balanced Man Program Director Seth Irby, Louisiana Beta '11, we plan to integrate several events throughout the spring semester to ensure continued involvement with freshmen after their pledge class has been initiated. The bar was set extremely high last semester with our success in intramurals, philanthropy, academics, and the President's Trophy award. Our chapter is determined to continue to exceed the high standard we set for ourselves to make fall 2015 one of the best to date. Alumni, we want to express our most sincere gratitude for your support. We encourage you to visit the chapter house next time you are in Norman, especially once renovations are complete.
