SIGMA CHI FRATERNITY • OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY • FALL 2015 Inside • Thank You, Annual Donors ~ p. 2 • Alumni Spotlights ~ p. 2 • Chapter Recruits 45 Men~ p. 3 The Sig Scroll $65,000 RAISED TOWARD SIGMA CHI ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND I n the spring newsletter, we announced the $200,000 Gamma Delta scholarship match program for the Pickens Legacy Scholarship Match at OSU. T. Boone Pickens has committed $100 million as a challenge grant toward Oklahoma State University's campaign to commit $500 million to enhance scholarships. Gamma Delta has until March 1, 2016, to raise the remaining $135,000 toward our $200,000 goal. We started strong with a $50,000 lead gift, and since then we have raised $15,000 more. If we reach our goal, the $200,000 will turn into a $500,000 endowment toward Gamma Delta scholarships once the match is made. This fund is a huge opportunity for the chapter and has the ability to provide meaningful support to our Gamma Delta brothers who are in need of financial assistance. A strong scholarship endowment also has great recruiting potential. Help us attract the best and brightest Oklahoma State has to offer by making the escalating cost of college more affordable. Gifts to the Foundation qualify as tax deductible, so be sure to make your year-end gifts before it's too late. In hoc, Gamma Delta House Corporation Board Gamma Delta Operating at High Level Chapter Wins Peterson Significant Chapter Award P lease join me in congratulating the Chapter on winning yet another Petersen Significant Chapter Award. This award shows that the Chapter has been operating at a high level for the past year in many different areas of operation. It is an acknowledgement by the Fraternity that we are measuring up, and the entire Chapter should be proud. One area where the undergraduates really knocked the cover off the ball this year was recruitment. We signed 45 outstanding young men, most of whom were committed on signing day. This is exponentially better than we have done in the past (and we've been doing well), and is due in large measure to the recruitment team, who worked intelligently and diligently throughout the process. Finally, I urge you to please consider making a year-end tax-deductible gift to the Gamma Delta academic scholarship fund that we are setting up with the OSU Foundation. Your gift will be eligible for the Pickens Match program and matched at a 1.5 to 1 ratio. We already have a $50,000 lead gift, and we'd greatly appreciate your support in establishing academic awards for undergraduate brothers. For more information, please see the article to the right.
