Alpha Mu Welcomes New Graduate Assistant J ennifer Hormell comes to us this year as our live-in graduate student advisor. A Tri Delta with experience as a traveling consultant for the national organization, Jennifer has already jumped into her role, advising and investing in the young men of Theta Chi. Having earned her undergraduate degree from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, Jennifer is now working on her master's degree in higher education and student affairs. She is also working in an assistantship in the Academic Success Center at Iowa State, a position that goes hand-in-hand with her efforts at Alpha Mu. "In working with Theta Chi, one of my goals is to continue the academic development within the chapter and progressively work on improving standards. Coming from the outside, I have the opportunity to offer perspective on how programs are functioning, their level of effectiveness, and if they are really working for our members." "Living in the chapter house means I get to be a resource for the chapter members at all times. Alpha Mu has a great advisory team and Alumni Corporation Board and it's a great experience for me to work with members and alumni in a full-time advising position." Jennifer's work this fall will also include the continuing development of our members after a successful summer recruitment. She'll assist our officers in integrating new members while keeping older brothers engaged, making our community cohesive and successful. You can contact Jennifer at jhormell@iastate.edu.
