Kappa Kappa Gamma 3 RENOVATION AND EXPANSION OF OUR AGING HOUSE Loyalty to Kappa Drives Audrey Hayden Russell '02 to Give J ust walking toward the front door of the Beta Nu Dreamhouse felt like home to Audrey Hayden Russell '02. The women she would meet inside would become her dearest friends in the years to come. The experiences and roles she would take on would build her skills and confidence for all that would follow after college. "At Kappa, everyone was outgoing, confident, and had lots of interesting things to say. Those women helped me find a niche in the Greek community that I was able to draw from, making my student experience that much better. They are still my nearest and dearest friends who I am in constant contact with. Kappa has given me so much and I want the chapter to continue having the opportunity to succeed." Audrey drew from that desire to see Kappa prosper as Beta Nu began plans to transform the chapter house. As a young alumna, her family's philanthropic priorities are still taking shape, meaning Kappa could be a high priority in their giving. "There's nothing like living in a sorority house, and this campaign will ultimately open the opportunity for more women to live in and take part in chapter events. "While the current chapter standing is not at all what any Beta Nu could ever dream of, I feel it's incredibly important to stand by our deeply rooted history and legacy at Ohio State. We are an organization that fosters sisterhood, leadership, sincerity and lifelong friendships, and I plan to do whatever I can to make sure that this beautiful tradition continues. "If it weren't for Beta Nu and my experiences during my undergraduate membership, I know my life would look completely different today. Beta Nus have always been incredibly loyal, and this project and our alumnae are a true reflection of that. I owe who I am to Beta Nu, and will continue to pay it forward. We are strong women with strong values and common goals. I know together we can pick up the pieces and carry on our legacy!" In her career, Audrey has grown her passion for the student experience, earning a master's degree in higher education and student affairs from Loyola University in Chicago. She has taught English in South Korea; served as a leadership consultant for Kappa, traveling to 31 chapters in the U.S. and Canada; and worked in fundraising for Greek organizations with Pennington & Company. For the next three years, Audrey, her husband, James, and their son, Eddie, will make their home in England where James serves with the Royal Air Force on behalf of the U.S. Air Force. Audrey can be reached at audrey.russell4@gmail.com. Preserving the Legacy Cameron Family Inspired To Give Back K appa Kappa Gamma courses through their veins. Through gener- ations, the sorority and Beta Nu Chapter provided a sense of pride to the women who wear the badge, as well as the entire Cameron family. Lana Mathewson Williamson '00, a fourth-generation legacy, recalls mem- ories of KKG from an early age. From dinner talk to visiting the national headquarters, Kappa is a bond that all women on her mother's side share. (Continued on page 4)
