Thank you to veteran Harry Willett for volun- teering to help with Te- hama County ID Cards in Corning. I will need volunteers to assist in Corning with ID cards until I have addi- tional VA Work Study help in the office. Please contact me if you are interested in volunteering with ID cards at the Corning VSO loca- tion. I am out of the office the week of October 12th for VSO training. Beverly Holden will be in the office part-time — please only contact her if you have an emergency. Beverly is work- ing toward her VSR accred- itation so she will be able to help with claims too. Thank you for your patience while we expand Veteran Ser- vices — and our increased services requires additional training. Veterans Day 2015 VSO offices will begin validat- ing military service for Veterans who would like to have "Veteran" noted on their California Driver's Li- cense. I will find out more about this at the VSO train- ing next week and update you in a VSO News article soon. The VSO will issue Te- hama County Veteran ID cards to honorably dis- charged veterans. Please bring an original copy or certified copy of your DD- 214 and if needed, we can order one for you. LOS MOLINOS HIGH SCHOOL Drive through tri-tip meal to benefit FFA SUSANVILLE Lassen Na- tional Forest officials has lifted fire restrictions as of Friday. This means that forest visitors may once again have campfires outside of developed campgrounds and recreation sites, al- though campfire permits are still required. Fire of- ficials remind forest vis- itors to keep campfires small and be sure they are completely dead and cold to the touch before leav- ing camp. The lifting of restrictions also rescinds the "hoot owl" provision, which means chainsaws no longer have a 1 p.m. shutdown time and may now be used all day on Lassen National Forest lands. Woodcutters must have valid woodcutting permits, and their chainsaws must be equipped with spark ar- resters. For more information, call Forest Headquarters at 257-2151 or the Almanor Ranger Districtat 258-2141 or visit www.fs.usda.gov/ lassen.
