If you're like many people, the arrival of spring means it's time to spruce up your home. But why stop there? This year, consider applying some of those same spring-cleaning tech- niques to your investment portfolio. Here are some ideas you may want to put to work: • Get rid of clutter. You probably don't have to look too far around your home to find things that are broken or simply no longer useful to you. If you poke around your portfolio, you might make similar discoveries: an investment that has chroni- cally underperformed, duplicates another invest- ment or met your needs in the past but is less relevant to your situation and goals. • Consolidate. Over the years, you may have accu- mulated multiple versions of common household items — brooms, mops, hammers — which pop up mysteriously in various parts of your home. You might find it more efficient, and even less expensive, if you consolidated all these things in one centralized location. As an investor, you also might find that consoli- dation can offer you some benefits. Do you have one Individual Retirement Account (IRA) with one financial services provider and a second IRA with another? Do you have a couple of old 401(k) accounts with former employers? • Prepare for turbulent weather. As you know, springtime can bring heavy rains, hail, strong winds and other threats to your home. James, (J.C.) Pendergraft, the owner was introduced and he talked about HOBs and what they offer and what his vision is for HOBs. "Our goal is to provide a place to per- form and listen to good music, enjoy good coffee and know that there is a warm, welcoming and comfortable place to come to," Pendergraft said. The vision actually began with the Holden family who started House of Brews. He is just carrying on the vision of Don, Pam, Becca and Jessica, Pendergraft said. The Johnson Creek Band from Oregon was there to play some good country music. Local fiddler, Lenny Barbo was asked to perform with the band and the crowd really enjoyed listening to the music, the good food and social- izing. Thanks House of Brews for hosting the event. • Retired - Ron Lindley of Ron‚s Mufflers has been in business and a member of the Corning Chamber of Com- merce since 1982, and is now retired and has closed shop.
