all semester is off to a strong start for Beta
Kappa! We had an excellent work week
and recruitment, thanks to Vice President of
Membership Abby Cauble '12, Director of
Recruitment Shiri Kboudi '13, and Director of
Sponsorship Chandler Blanton '12. Preference
Day allowed the seniors to share some of their
favorite DG memories, coupled with the classic
white dresses and purple leis. Our Bid Day theme,
Let It Be DeeGee, was a hit! Girls dressed up for
the '70s extravaganza, which included a bouncy
house, snow cone machine, ice cream bar, music,
and a videographer, thanks to Vice President of
Member Education Haley Hungerford '13. Beta
Kappa has gained 62 wonderful new members,
and we will be holding an initiation ceremony
on November 7.
We look forward to a fabulous fall semester filled
with Delta Gamma activities. Parent's Weekend
was September 11-13, and included a barbecue
at the Chapter house and a KU football game.
Our annual Anchor Splash week-long event was
September 21-27. Women had the opportunity
to coach various Anchor Splash teams who
competed in penny wars, Anchor Slam, and
swimming events benefitting Service for Sight.
Homecoming week is October 26 through
November 1, and we are partnered with Alpha
Kappa Lambda for the week.
Beta Kappa is ready for another promising
semester. We would like to welcome our new
advisory team chairman, Jessica Mattes, Alpha
Lambda '10! We would also like to say a huge
thank you to our recruitment advisors, Lindsay
Hicks '04 and Katy Hagmeier, Gamma Beta
'03, for a great recruitment!
