90th Anniversary Celebration
Joins Actives and Alumni
John '46 and Hilda Hingst Living Room Dedicated

he 90th anniversary celebration was a mild success with about 20 brothers, both active
and alumni, in attendance. We had an open house and hors d'oeuvres for lunch as we
met and got caught up. We capped the afternoon with the dedication of the John '46 and
Hilda Hingst Living Room. Ted Hingst '85 provided some very touching words about his
father and mother and their contributions to the church, university, and community.
We had dinner at University Lutheran Church, where many alumni got to meet Pastor
Herman for the first time. The church basement is looking much better with a fresh coat of
paint. Torbjørn Hartvigsen '08 was in the country from Norway for a wedding. We don't
get to see him much anymore, so that was a pleasant surprise. Jon Tower '10 and the active
members even decided to make an appearance!
After dinner, we headed to our favorite watering hole, Harry's Chocolate Shop, where we
had the upper floor reserved. Actives and alumni celebrated our brotherhood in a way not
often seen other than at Homecoming.
