2 Lyre Notes around the perimeter of the house and parking lot, installed as an additional means of security. A continuous film loop can be accessed via an Internet link by the chapter's house director, house corporation and advisory board members. Nearly all of Mizzou's 15 sororities have installed security systems with cameras to deter vandalism and keep Greek Town safe. In addition, a significant portion of the exterior was repainted, fire doors were replaced on the second and third floors, wood floors in three bedrooms were refinished, and the vinyl flooring in five bedrooms was replaced. The new flooring is a composite that looks like wood, similar to the floor covering in the lower level lounge of the chapter house. Several areas were repainted and some furniture was replaced. Other significant upgrades include a new boiler and water softener. Every year, the chapter house receives a deep cleaning. Two years after the first floor and lower level renovation, the new furniture and upholstery are wearing well. Chapter members are respectful of the property and take pride in their beautiful home away from home. "I feel so much safer knowing that all of my sisters have a closer parking lot that is well lit." KELSEY OLLIS '13 Summer 2015 Improvements (Continued from page 1) "I used to park in the old lot on the other side of Greek Town, but now I love the convenience of the new parking lot! It is so much closer and nicer." MARGARET COOPER '13 Alpha Nu Alumnae Volunteer for ACW around the Country B ecky Cruce Federman '99 joined the Alpha Nu Chapter because Alpha Chi Omega felt like home. She shares that preference day left her with happy tears and an overwhelming desire to be a part of the Alpha Chi Omega family. Becky proudly joined a family of sisters who were known on campus for being fun, classy and genuine women. Becky has a family of her own, but still remembers the values of Alpha Chi Omega in her business and parenting practices. "An important lesson I learned from Alpha Nu is that I not only need to take care of others, but I also need to take care of myself. I learned that taking time for yourself doesn't make you selfish—it actually makes you better equipped to serve others." While Becky's main profession is serving her family as a stay-at-home mom, she also runs a property restoration business. She has a passion for design and an extreme talent for buying old homes and bringing them back to life. She encourages Alpha Chi sisters to follow their heart and mind simultaneously when building their careers. "The leadership experience I gained during my time at Alpha Chi Omega gave me the confidence to take a calculated risk and start my own business." Becky resides in Murfreesboro, Tenn., with her husband, Mitch, who she met on the dance floor at TP's on a night where her ACW sisters coerced her to go out. Becky and Mitch have two sons, Aidan (7) and Emmett (4). Since she resides in Tennessee, Becky relies on social media for keeping up with the latest babies, new jobs and cross-country moves of her Alpha Nu sisters.
