About 9:30 p.m. Satur- day, a tree was blown into a power line causing prob- lems in the area of Reeds Creek Road and Willard Road. An hour prior, wind knocked over road closed signs and barriers in the area of State Route 99W at Gyle Road. Law enforcement re- sponded about 9:30 p.m. Saturday to downed power lines in the area of Riverside Avenue and Orange Grove Road just south of Red Bluff. There was a call about 7:15 p.m. Saturday of a tree blocking Cone Grove Road west of the park, however, that tree was re- moved prior to deputy ar- rival. Fire FROM PAGE 1 Staff Reports RED BLUFF A 23-year-old Red Bluff man was arrested Sunday night in connection with pharmacy break-in on South Main Street. Officers were dispatched around 10:45 p.m. Sunday to a burglary alarm activa- tion at Owens Healthcare at 1050 S. Main St., accord- ing to a press release issued Monday by Red Bluff Po- lice Department. While re- sponding, a caller reported seeing a suspect, later iden- tified as Christopher Puck- ett, enter the business through a window he had broken. When officers arrived they saw Puckett being chased by a witness. Puck- ett was fleeing from the business near the railroad tracks, the release said. Officers took over the chase through a field and across the parking lot of Wendy's and were able to catch Puckett as he crossed South Main Street near Montgomery Road. Officers tackled Puck- ett and attempted to ap- prehend him, the release said. Puckett resisted their efforts and elbowed offi- cers as they were trying to gain control of him, the re- lease said. Eventually officers were able to gain control of Puckett and he was ar- rested. Stolen items from the business were found with Puckett's belongings, the release said. One officer was injured during the arrest and was treated and released from the hospital for the inju- ries. Puckett was booked into the Tehama County Jail on charges of burglary, ob- structing and resisting a peace officer and battery on a peace officer. Corning Police logs show officers responded at 1:18 a.m. Saturday to a report of a person who had been stabbed and was in need of medical. One person was transported via ambulance to Enloe Medical Center in Chico. A witness reported see- ing a dark colored pickup leave northbound on Fifth Street, according to logs. Tehama County Sher- iff's logs show at 1:23 a.m. an assist with a stabbing and an attempt to catch a vehicle in the area of State Route 99W and Sac- ramento Avenue after it was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. A stop was made at 1:25 a.m., however, the person fled on foot. Corning Police logs show officers being out with a pickup on 99W at Sacra- mento Avenue followed by the arrest of Javier Men- doza Garcia and Miguel N. Mendoza, both 29. The two men were booked into Tehama County Jail on the felony charges of street terrorism, con- spiracy to commit a crime and assault with a deadly weapon, force not firearm: great bodily injury likely. They were also booked on the misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and Garcia received an addi- tional misdemeanor charge of contempt of court: dis- obey order. Bail was $85,000 for Mendoza and $90,500 for Garcia. STABBING Tw o Re d Bl uff m en a rr es te d in C or ni ng s ta bb in g ical vehicle, said Fire Chief Marion Rocksvold. She and Assistant Chief Bob Cords were on-hand to answer questions from the com- munity regarding the vehi- cle and recruiting volunteer firefighters. The Molino Lodge of the Masons was on hand to pro- vide child identification kits for parents to fill out so that they would have something to take to police in case of an emergency. The annual pie contest drew eight contestants for the adult division and six for the children's division with Cal Hunter acting as master of ceremonies. Channel 7's Mike Krueger and Evan Schreiber joined with Tehama County Su- pervisor Dennis Garton and Channel 9 General Manager Mike Quinn as judges. ANTOLIND.HERNANDEZ-BROWNFIELD March 15, 1985 ~ September 29, 2015 Antolin D. Hernandez-Brownfield age 30 went to meet his new found friend our Lord Jesus Christ on Sept.29, 2015. Andy was born on March 15, 1985 in Reno Nevada to paternal parents Antolin and Angela Hernandez, and was a special blessing welcomed into Larry and Charlotte Brownfields home at a young age. Andy attended pre-school at the Little Red School House, elementary Antelope, middle school Berrendos, and high school at Red Bluff High. Andy's professional skills were Gustin Down, Motor, Construction, and Home building, along with his personal lawn care service he loved to work but was unable to work at times due to health reasons. Andy especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Some of his favorite activities were, Mudd bogging, biking with family and friends, fishing, camping, working at the monster trucks and listening to his music, while loving his dog "Bubba". He was very active in the community touch- ing lives everywhere, at every level. Andy enjoyed attending church at Calvary Chapel. Due to health problems he was unable to attend as often as he would of liked. When he was able to attend, he was ex- cited about his growing interest with the Lord. Andy's main passion was helping others and helping to meet their specific needs. Andy was known as "Uncle Andy" to all his friends chil- dren. Andy is survived by his Mother and Father, Antolin and Angela Hernandez, Charlotte and Larry Brownfield, Grandparent Ruth Johnson, sisters, Dollarene Button, Randea Guzman, Kaysha Palmer, Latisha Gooch, Alicia Hughes, Devon John and brother Christopher Brownfield, along with numerous Uncles, Aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Andy is proceeded in death by his Grandparents Theo- dore and Ella Brownfield. Funeral will be at Halls Bros. In Corning Ca. Friday Oct. 9th. Viewing to be from 10-11:30. Services to follow, graveside services at Oak Hill Ceme- tery, being laid to rest by his Grandmother Ella Brownfield, that he loved dearly, took care of, with a re- ception at the Red Bluff City Park, All who new Andy is welcome. Benjamin Thomas Willey September 29, 1930 ~ September 29, 2015 A funeral service will be held for Benjamin Thomas Wil- ley, 85 of Red Bluff, on Thursday, October 8th at 1 p.m. at the Pentecostal Church of God, 380 Kimball Rd. Red Bluff. Benjamin was born on September 29, 1930 and passed away on September 29, 2015. On April 21, 1954 he mar- ried Dorothy Sneddon in Coalport, PA. Benjamin was an equipment operator for Diamond International for 28 years and was a valued member of the Pentecostal Church of God. He is survived by his loving children, James Willey, Ri- chard (Norma) Willey, Tina (Steve) Unfug, Tara Soleil and Randy Willey; grandchildren, David (Lila) Willey, Robert (Eileen) Willey, Michael (Logan) Willey, Ben Willey, Alys- sa Steele, William Willey, Shauni Steele and Hailie Willey; great grandchildren, Emily Willey, Landon Willey, Madi- son Willey, Tyler Willey and Brighton Willey; and his sis- ter Emily Hyle. Benjamin was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy in February of this year.
