2 fter experiencing everything Sigma Nu, Delta Chapter, and the brotherhood could offer, becoming a committed, lifelong member of the brotherhood was second nature for Alex Jaggard '00, Δ1364. He rejoins Sigma Nu this year as alumni advisor and looks forward to a lifetime of involvement with Delta Chapter. As an undergraduate, Alex benefitted from the presence of involved alumni, including Jay Pitts Jr., Δ1000. "Jay was a constant positive presence during my undergraduate years, relating to both chapter operations and my overall college experience." Alex was proud of his fellow brothers and the Lambda pledge class. "The understanding that around 100 college students were committed to each other as brothers, to the various causes we were then partnered with, and promoting a positive and welcoming reputation on campus brought me a great sense of both pride and satisfaction." When the position of alumni advisor opened up, Jay Pitts reached out to Alex, who had been interested for some time. "My duties as alumni advisor are to guide the chapter to be the best it can possibly be, and to be sure that when critical and impactful decisions are made, they are made with all of the information and counsel available." Alex knows the active chapter is excellent and is very impressed with those he works with closely on the executive board. Alex and his wife, Meredith, who was a Kappa Delta at Wofford College, live in Columbia, S.C., where he is a small business banker with Bank of America. He has also recently joined the Delta Chapter Alumni House Corporation Board. In his free time, Alex enjoys travel, food, drink, Gamecock football, and life with family and friends. Reach out to him at alex.jaggard@hotmail.com. "Sigma Nu contributed to a college experience that I still think of with great happiness and pride. The experience generated a link to brothers that, while we only may have been in each other's lives for four years, an unbreakable bond will always remain. The fraternity provided a world of opportunity and a broad network of people who will never shy away from celebrating success or aiding me in times of need."
