Yarbrough, a Math/Physics Major, made the academic Dean's List at Azusa Pacific University. Yarbrough is being hon- ored for a fall semester 2011 academic standing of a 3.5 or better grade-point average. He is joined by more than 1,750 other students receiving the same honor. Stokes is a freshman in Pre- Sport Sciences and Community Health. She made the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The honor roll comprises undergraduates who meet requirements in the College of Liberal Arts and Sci- ences and in the schools of allied health; architecture, design and planning; business; education; engineering; journalism; music; nursing; pharmacy; and social wel- fare. Honor roll criteria vary among the university's acad- emic units. Some schools honor the top 10 percent of students enrolled, some establish a minimum grade- point average and others raise the minimum GPA for each year students are in school. All stu- dents participated with their own special pre- sentation to Stroman, including handcrafted flowers in a basket, thank you letters in a mail box, reading of poems and questions about her many civic involvements. In addition to making more books and materials available to families whose children are served by state preschools, the program allows parents the opportunity to attend monthly events that help them and their children to learn how to use books and activities at home that support what the preschoolers are learning in the classroom.
