"I'd like to welcome you to the unveiling that honors the six fallen officers of Te- hama County," Aviles said. "I appreciate you taking the time to be here." Mitchell Sauve of Red Bluff sang the national an- them as a California High- way Patrol Explorer honor guard member presented the colors alongside a Boy Scout honor guard member. Tehama County Sheriff's Chaplain Mike Cox gave the invocation and a short speech. It was a true honor to be a part of the dedica- tion to a memorial to honor the fallen law enforcement, Cox said. As he prepared to say a prayer Cox asked that those in attendance remember to pray for the safety of Te- hama County law enforce- ment not just at the dedi- cation, but throughout the year. State Sen. Jim Nielsen and Assemblyman James Gallagher presented Aviles with a plaque of recognition while Aviles' father, CHP Lt. Lou Aviles, presented a plaque of recognition on be- half of Rep. Doug LaMalfa. Sa- die and her animatronic sidekick Virgil Macdon- ald have turned hard work into comedy and music celebrating the American farmer. Virgil, who happens to be the world's oldest farmer, shares his knowl- edge of farming with hu- mor and song and Sadie gets lots of help from the audience rewarding daily chores with a hootenanny. Sowing and reaping are the buzz words of the day and learning a thing or two from Virgil is not going to be what you ex- pected. Stop by Family Park and see Sadie and Virgil in ac- tion. Look for Sadie the Bal- loon Lady strolling at the fair. Known for her inno- vative, crazy balloon cre- ations and wacky cos- tuming she does attract a crowd. Look for Steve around the fair with his hilari- ous comic magic as every- thing appears to go wrong for Steve, but right for his audience when they roar with laughter. This act features orig- inal routines the whole family will enjoy. Things certainly don't go as planned as Steve attempts the classics of magic, but when the audi- ence becomes the stars of the show, it all works out hilariously. Steve performs an unbe- lievable rolling magical il- lusion as he glides around on his mystifying magic carpet. Heads turn and cameras snap as Steve appears to fly while seated on a rug. You won't want to miss Steve the Pretty Good at the fair.
