Alpha Nu Chapter of Sigma Chi Project Highlights T he Alpha Nu alumni and undergraduate leadership have developed a solid plan to address the long-term viability of the Sigma Chi experience on the UT campus. Through careful study, assessment, and planning, it has been determined that significant updates to the Chapter House are necessary, and we must invest in our home to meet the needs of today's students. Working with Eubanks Group Architects, the Alpha Nu House Corporation has developed a tactical approach to our future. MAIN HOUSE • Complete interior renovation. • Address mandatory life-safety issues with sprinklers, fire-rated doors, and full compliance with code specifications. • Install/replace the heating and air-conditioning system for greater efficiency and temperature regulation. • Replace heating and cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems to accommodate the volume/size of the house and address safety issues. • Provide ample meeting and study space by enlarging the Chapter room and renovating the library and Chapter office, as well as adding wireless Internet access throughout the facility. Lighting will be replaced and rewired to enhance study areas. • Construct a self-contained multipurpose area to host social events, athletics, and functions. • Expand building to the north to connect to new apartments. APARTMENTS • Build new four-story facility north of the main house. • Increase occupancy to 57 men. • Remove current complex and use space for parking. • Add first-level parking for 31, with 45 total parking spots.
