InhonorofAdoptaLessAdopt- able PetWeek, theTehama County Animal Care Center will be hold- ing an adoption event through Friday. Launched by Petfinder.com, the Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet events are held at many animal shelters nationwide to show that every pet is an adoptable pet. However, many animals are of- ten overlooked because of their age, color or breed label. Senior pets, those with medical issues, black animals and pit bull type dogs can take four times as long to get adopted. To help focus on some of the less adoptable pets, prices will be reduced for all senior pets, blacks animals and pets with medical is- sues. In addition, dogs labeled as pit bull type dogs will have re- duced fees. Providing Essentials for Te- hama Shelter, or PETS, will spon- sor the spay or neuter for all ani- mals labeled less adoptable. Two counts of the solicita- tion of murder were dismissed after Travis John Kilburger, 29, plead guilty to the other charges against him. Sentencing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19 in de- partment 2 of the courthouse. In May of 2014 Kilburger was arrested for charges of corpo- ral injury against his estranged spouse. While incarcerated he reportedly came up with a plan to have another inmate commit the two murders. One of victims of this planned crime was a family member who was going to tes- tify against Kilburger in court on his previous charges, ac- cording to a press released is- sued in July 2014. Kilburger's bail was changed and has been set to $335,000.
