The following awards were presented Sept. 10 at the Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber of Com- merce annual awards din- ner. This year's Gene Penne recipient, Linda Durrer, was born and raised in Red Bluff, grew up and gradu- ated from Red Bluff High School as valedictorian and voted most likely to suc- ceed. She has made signif- icant contributions to our community, both person- ally and in official capaci- ties. She has served the Te- hama County Democratic Central Committee, Cow- belles, Tehama District Fair and two terms as president of Sunrise Rotary Club. The Business of the Year award went to Dignity Health St. Elizabeth Com- munity Hospital. Since 1907, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital has been an integral part of the Tehama County community through groups such as Ex- pect More Tehama, Rotary, Tehama Economic Develop- ment Council, Blue Ribbon Coalition, Job Training Cen- ter, Soroptimist, Retired Se- nior Volunteer Program, Te- hama County and of course the chambers of commerce. St. Elizabeth supports the community through community grants as well. In 2014 Dignity Health, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital Grant Program awarded $34,899 to vari- ous community agencies to help run and sustain their outreach programs. In support of children of our community; scholar- ships have been established for senior girls athletes who have participated in Te- hama County high school sports in honor of the Na- tional Girls and Women in Sports proclamation.
