6 Bishop Seabury Academy From the Head of School W elcome to the 2014-2015 Annual Report of Giving. In these pages, we document the energy and enthusiasm of our school and celebrate the ongoing support of Bishop Seabury Academy and our school's cherished mission. It is an honor to know that so many alumni, parents, faculty, trust- ees, friends, and supporters of our school will be reading this report. I am especially aware of our alumni—and not only out of fondness for our Seabury Kids, no matter where you are in the world. For those of you who pioneered the earliest days of Seabury, those of you who were are champi- ons as our school developed, and those who have more recently graduated from a school that has finally reached its maturity, I want you to know that we keep alight the spirit of Seabury. Faculty, staff, trustees, and so many stewards of this school: we have maintained the unique culture that contin- ues to nurture students of the highest caliber. We continue to celebrate creativity and a playful spirit as we challenge stu- dents to push themselves toward excellence in all areas of their lives. And we continue to charge every student to reach within themselves to think and do always those things that are right. This is not an easy thing to accomplish. But as Plato once wrote, "Nothing great is easy." I hope these pages will reveal the excitement, tradition, and love that contin- ue to set the tone of our daily lives at Seabury. We are here because of you. Yours respectfully, Dr. Don Schawang Head of School From the Board oF trustees W e are blessed to have a wonderful community that believes in a Seabury education. I am proud to be a part of those who are dedicated to fulfilling the Seabury mission. As the departing president of the Board of Trustees, I stand in awe of a dedicated headmaster, teachers and staff, a tireless BSAP, a growing—and engaged—alumni network, volunteer parents, and many others who support the school. Each and every part of this network helps us grow to continued success. Thank you! Through many individual efforts, we now have a record enrollment, a stable financial outlook, and an exciting future as we approach the 20th anniversary of the founding of the school. Please enjoy this Annual Report of Giving and consider thoughtfully what you can contribute to the success of the school and its most valuable resource: our students. Yours respectfully, Dennis H. Depenbusch President of Board of Trustees 2014-15 We continue to charge every student to reach within themselves to think and do always those things that are right. " "
