BOYS SOCCER RETURNS TO BISHOP SEABURY
The soccer team is helmed by longtime girl's coach Ivo Ivanov and new-
comer Joe Comparato. The program brings excitement to the fall season
and has positioned itself as one of the larger athletic programs in the
school, fielding a junior high team and large varsity roster.
CROSS COUNTRY TEAM LOOKS TO STATE
Kara Schrader returns for her second season as head cross country coach.
Along with junior high coach Vanessa Eicher, Coach Schrader is working
hard to return the program to dominance. The team welcomes back both of
last year's Most Valuable Runners—junior Jack Edmonds and sophomore
Peggie Zeng—and hopes to qualify for state this year. The junior high
cross country team is led by 1-mile school record holders Henry Nelson
and Emily Heinz, who ramp up to 2 miles this season and aim for new
records.
VOLLEYBALL SQUAD LOOKING FOR A
REPEAT SEASON
The volleyball program is coming off its best season in school history. The
2014 varsity team broke eight team records, six individual records, and
played further into the postseason than any other volleyball team since
joining KSHSAA. The 2015 squad, under the direction of Chrissy Leuty
(eighth season), returns all but one starter from last year's team and both
MVPs from the 2013 season—seniors Ellen Almanza and Taylor Hodge.
This year's program will once again field four teams, two at the junior high
level and two at the high school level. Along with Coach Leuty, the Lady
Seahawks will be coached by Danielle Geronymo (first season; JV), Cris
Bryan (third season; junior high A-Team), and Katelyn Abel (first season;
junior high B-Team).
