In fact, she not only received her bachelor's degree in communicative disorders, but also her master's in speech language pathology. She works in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the university. "As a speech language pathologist, I am lucky enough to teach language development and language disorders at Ole Miss," Lisa says. "I also supervise our graduate students in their clinical practicum as they work with clients with speech and language disorders." While she is not busy in the classroom, she is giving back to Alpha Delta by serving as president of the Parent's Club. In that role, she corresponds with the parents of Alpha Delta and encourages them to join the club and assist with meals for recruitment and other parent-related activities. Lisa knew from the beginning that Phi Mu was the place for her. Her best friend from high school, who was a year older, invited her to stay with her, and Lisa immediately felt right at home. Alpha Delta allowed her to grow as an individual and to be the best that she could be. With the success she had being involved with recruitment, painting signs for football, and creating skits for recruitment, Lisa was able to translate the core values into her personal and professional life. Since 2000, she served as the Alpha Delta House Corporation secretary and became vice president last year. "Phi Mu taught me the importance of service to others and to live my life by our creed of love, honor, and truth in my profession, my marriage, and as a mother," Lisa says. Now she has her daughter, Mary Randall Ivy '14, in the Chpater. Lisa encourages the undergraduates to utilize the resources available to them and to stay connected to one other. "Network with your amazing Phi Mu sisters across the country for advice on jobs, being a wife, being a mother, and to help to build one another up as women," she says. "As women, we change and grow so much over the course of our lives, that remaining in one another's lives is vital to who we are. Being 'true to the womanhood of love' is something that we all strive to do. It was such a blessing for me to become part of this sisterhood over 30 years ago, and it is still a blessing!" Lisa and her husband of 22 years, Randy Ivy, Ole Miss '85 (Kappa Alpha), and their two children, Mary Randall and Clay, live in Oxford, Mississippi. In her free time, she enjoys attending her children's activities, Ole Miss sporting events, cooking, and walking with friends.
