Recycle Your
Christmas Tree
16th Annual
Grinding of the Greens
Again this year, the Christmas tree you've enjoyed
for the holiday season can continue to beautify our
environment for years to come. PWC, Progress
Energy, and the City of Fayetteville employees have
volunteered to collect and grind up the trees to be
used for mulch on the woodland paths and flower
beds at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden.
To participate in Grinding of the Greens, here's all
you have to do:
• If you live in the City of Fayetteville, you can put
your tree out for special curbside pick-up by
early January 4th. (Note: trees will not be picked
up prior to that date.)
• If you live outside the City (or miss your pick-up day),
drop your tree off at the Botanical Garden, Hwy. 301
North, no later than January 16th, by 9 am.
• Please be sure to remove all lights, stands and
trimmings from your tree.
