Cowell St, Quartzsite, AZ 85346 (928) 927-4113 Sunday Worship Service 9:30 am Join us this Summer! All Are Welcome! QUARTZSITE, AZ— The Town of Quartzsite has initiated a feasibil- ity study to determine what form of transit service will best meet the needs of residents and visitors to the community. The Transit Feasibility Study, funded by the Arizona Depart- ment of Transportation (ADOT), will help shape the future of public transit in Quartzsite. The study seeks to identify a cost-effective and sustainable form of both in- town and inter-community public transit service, as many Quartzsite residents must travel to activ- ity centers in Blythe, Parker, and Lake Havasu City. Recommendations arising from the study are intended to serve the needs of both residents and the infl ux of visitors and vendors who come during winter months for the annual Gem and Mineral Show. Because those needs can vary depending on the season, the Town will be reaching out to residents and inviting input on community transportation needs via a short survey. In the next few weeks, Quartzsite residents will receive the survey in the mail with instructions on how to participate. All respondents will be entered into a random drawing for a $100 VISA gift card. Quartzsite residents are also in- vited to visit the project webpage online at quartzsitetransitstudy. com. In support of the project, the Town has formed a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) composed of community stakeholders including seniors, persons with disabilities, low-income persons, veterans, healthcare providers, local busi- nesses, education, and neighboring transit providers. The TAC meets periodically along with representa- tives from the Town, ADOT, and the consultant team to provide feedback on the study, which is scheduled to be completed later this year. Following the development of the preliminary plan, the community will have an opportunity to pro- vide feedback via a series of public workshops. The workshops will summarize community, stake- holder, and TAC input, and outline a series of potential transit service scenarios. Workshop dates, times, and locations, will be posted on the project webpage.
