With their recent fourth release and first EP entitled Since I
L eft Your World, Fayetteville-based indie/rock acoustic band Rookie
Of The Year will fulfill their contractual obligation to the label, One
Eleven Records, which will allow them to sign with a new label. The
band has seen many line-up changes during their tenure with the
record label, with lead singer/songwriter Ryan Dunson and lead
guitarist Mike K amerman the remaining original members. The
band also features keyboardist Daniel Kerrigan.
Since I L eft Your World is the follow-up to 2008's Sweet
Attention, which landed at No. 21 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart
and No. 9 on the magazine's Alternative New Artist chart. The EP
fuses acoustic folk rock with a modern American indie rock sound.
Rookie Of The Year's first album, Having To L et Go was released in
2005.
The band has been a fixture in the Fayetteville music scene since
forming in 2002, playing various gigs at The Rock Shop, Jesters
Pub and most recently a cd
release party last month at
BS Jones.
In January, the group
will embark on a multi-city
tour throughout the Midwest
and Southeast with national
indie rock band Between The
Trees, whose latest album
"Spain" debuted on the
Billboard chart at number
138. You can find out more
