It should be noted that "The Astronaut Wives Club" is based on the same-named nonfiction best-seller by Lily Koppel. As often is the case with series or movies inspired by true stories, a certain amount of dramatic license has been taken — but by and large, the material in the show is factual. Author Koppel visited the set while the program was being made, and co-star Odette Annable told us that she conferred with Koppel on her perfor- mance as Trudy Cooper. "Reliable Sourc- es" was there first, originally with Howard Kurtz — who left CNN and now hosts "Media- Buzz," which was scheduled against his former show (which Brian Stelter presides over now) not only because viewers are familiar with his being in that time slot, but also as something of a show of bravado by Fox News.
