David Hasting, 40, of Red Bluff was arrested at 21240 Shangri-La Way in Red Bluff and booked into Tehama County Jail for a felony charge of grand theft related to one of the burglaries. The bail was set at $15,000. The burglaries involved mul- tiple victims and many items stolen including credit cards, checks, jewelry, cash and fire- arms. During the investigation of the burglaries the detectives learned that two of the victims had their checking accounts used to pay a cell phone bill over the phone, ac- cording to a press release issued Friday by the Tehama County Sheriff's Office. Another victim's credit card was used at various businesses throughout the area. A local grocery store's video surveillance was used by detec- tives to help identify Hasting, the release said. The search warrant presented detectives with items from at least 10 different burglaries and thefts in the area. Once the evidence has been processed detectives will be fil- ing additional charges, accord- ing to the release. "The community has come out of the woodworks to do- nate to us," Ragsdale said. "It's been amazing. This is by far the biggest sale we've ever had and we hope to beat last year's total." The house, which can han- dle up to 15 clients at a time in its six bedrooms, costs about $18,000 a year, which is about $1,500 a month for every- thing, she said. The program gives women a safe place to stay while in transition from being homeless, which is one of the requirements of living there, and sorting thorough various issues that will allow them to get back on their feet and become productive mem- bers of the community while learning to be self sufficient. It helps with various aspects of their lives from becoming clean and sober to finding a job or even with the reunification process for women who have PATH FUNDRAISER SUPPORTS SALE HOUSE PROGRAM PHOTOSBYJULIEZEEB—DAILYNEWS Debbie Bowen, a house mother for the PATH Sale House, folds clothes Friday at the annual yard sale to raise funds for the program.
