Tri-County Sams meet The Tri-County Sams Chapter of the Good Sam Club held their January Meeting and Luncheon at the Iron Skillet Restaurant in Corning with nine rigs repre- sented and Jean Wagner as a guest. The Feb. 10-12 Campout was to be held at the Her- itage RV Park in Corning, but due to other commit- ments, only four rigs and one guest rig was planning on attending. Two of the rigs were only going to be able to camp for one night, so it was voted to cancel the Campout and only have our meeting and breakfast at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 11 at the Rolling Hills Casino in Corning. Anyone owning a self-contained RV that would like to go on monthly campouts with a great small group of people are encouraged to call Wagon Master Lisa Sol or President Richard Sol at 385-1344. If unable to reach them, you can still call former Wagon Master Vic Dick- ison at 824-3081. The club would like to hear from interested RVers as it is trying to increase its membership. You may know her as the owner of Westside Floral and Gifts. Stevana is an effervescent spitfire of a woman. She kind of reminds me of a lit sparkler against a moon- less July night. She has a remark- able and unmistakable laugh and a great sense of humor. Recently I was in the store ordering some flowers and some- thing she said struck me. She said that she wants change in her life. She said that she has been through a lot of great things and a lot of challenging things and she believes she has something to say that can help other people. When Stevana spoke to me about helping other people, I could see a genuineness that touched me. I could tell that she really, really wants to do something with the life lessons that she has lived. She real- ly, really wants to give back, but she has no idea how. As quickly as the flicker of who she really wants to be came, it went, back into the everydayness of filling flower orders. I bet there was a time, when she bought the flower shop, that she felt she was somehow doing some- thing for others through flowers. She was touching the lives of oth- ers through her shop. Imagine making a corsage for a giddy Freshman girl going to her first Winter Formal or a bridal bouquet for a blushing bride. Imag- ine making the welcome- to-the-world flowers for a new born or the condo- lence flowers for a funeral. Over time, our desires, abilities and needs shift. How we impact the world may change. I can sense in Stevana she desires change; the for sale sign in front of the store screams it. Stevana, you can do anything you feel equipped to do. The truth is, you are more equipped than you give yourself credit for. You can counsel, lead, change lives. Faydra Rector You Matter Something within you is screaming to get out and make a difference in this world. Set it free. Stevana, you matter because you are a light in a sometimes dark world. Your smile, your commit- ment to others is something people notice. You stuck in the game of life when you had the choice to quit. You have seen many things that can help others deal with their own issues. You matter because you know how to bring beau- ty to otherwise dreary experiences. Be like Stevana, care enough about others to want to help them. See in yourself what you have lived and know that it is valuable and can change a life. Be like Stevana, want for something more, open your eyes and be ready to make a change.
