B rothers, it is with deep appreciation and gratitude that I report the progress of Gamma Kappa Zeta's 2014-15 academic year to you, our supportive alumni and brothers of our bond. This year has been one of continued achievement, with great strides made academi- cally and competitively, as well as steady success in recruitment, philanthropy, and athletics. ChApter implementS higher gpA requirement Academically, the chapter has performed ex- ceptionally, boasting a collective 3.135 GPA, the highest since GPAs began being recorded in 2006. Additionally, the chapter passed a mo- tion this past spring to raise the minimum GPA requirement of the chapter to a 2.6 after fall 2015 and to 2.7 after fall 2016. This will be the minimum GPA requirement needed for associate members as well as active members. Last fall, Gamma Kappa Zeta hosted the annual Watermelon Fest, with attendance from 13 sorori- ties and a record 445 participants. The event raised over 50,000 pounds of food for Feeding America. reCruitment Committee proveS benefi- CiAl in Strengthening memberShip In the fall, the chapter had its pick of over 100 eager and capable young men, filling a fall as- sociate member class of 40 and a spring class of 25. The progress is largely a result of electing a second recruitment chairman as well as a re- cruitment committee to better displace the load of meeting and evaluating our increasing pool of potential new members. The chapter now sits at 130 members, one of the largest on campus. gAmmA kAppA ServeS AS A model ChApter Hard work from all members paid off in the fall when our chapter, paired with the women of Alpha Delta Pi, placed fourth in MU Homecom- ing. This is the first time the chapter has placed in Homecoming since 2007. That success con- tinued into the spring with Greek Week, when we placed second while paired with the women of Kappa Delta and the men of Alpha Kappa Lambda. In April, four members attended the annual Ozark Conclave at the newly colonized Missouri State chapter in Springfield, Mo. After a weekend of brotherly activities and discussion, our members reported that our chapter was the model of achievement for the entire conclave, being far more successful than the other chapters on nearly every front. on-CAmpuS preSenCe Stronger thAn ever This year has been a great leap forward with re- gards to member involvement on campus; overall more of the chapter is involved, and many hold positions of leadership. Former Chapter Presi- dent Marshall Rosga '13 is the vice president of finance and records for IFC. Senior Executive Member Jacob Scholl '13 was selected to be one of 30 summer welcome leaders for 2015. Senior Executive Member Zach Elmore '13 served on the Greek Week steering committee, as well as completed his first semester in MU's prestigious nursing school. Athletic prowess was in no short supply this year, as in the past. Football, soccer, basketball, and volleyball all placed in the top three of in- tramurals, with enough men to fill two teams for each sport. This year was particularly triumphant for volleyball, with a stellar senior class taking the Greek Week title and seven members playing on Mizzou's club volleyball team and securing third place in the nation this spring. Our fresh- man member class has been one of the most ath- letic we've had in years, and we expect excellent performances now and going forward. Stop by the ChApter houSe thiS fAll This year has been an accomplished one, with particular strides in campus involvement and academics. Members have enjoyed the positive attention the chapter has received this year, and look forward to one-upping themselves next year. Brothers have exceeded expectations and I am very proud of them. Thank you to all alumni; the chapter's success would not be possible without the groundwork you all have built and your con- tinued support. We would love for you to stop by during football season this fall. Again, thank you for your support, and have a blessed year.
