Sign ups through the city ended in December with a record turn out of 150 kids, ranging in age from 6- 13. Each Saturday, they play games in the May- wood gym, receiving a reversible jersey for the season. The Corning Rotary offered to buy extra adjustable basketball hoops for the smaller kids to keep those shots within reach. Debbie Olsen and Khrystie Shoemaker help with some of the behind the scenes logistics to enable this activity to run smoothly. Since Corning no longer has a recre- ation department, this is just one way that the com- munity has come together to keep kids active.
