Thefollowingdefendants were sentenced in Tehama County Superior Court, according to the Tehama County District Attorney's Office: RecentState/Local Prison Commitments: People vs. Janeth Cruz- Balderas, Child Abuse; Driving Under The Influ- ence of Alcohol. Brief history: The De- fendant was pulled over af- ter an officer observed the vehicle weaving and speed- ing as she was driving on I-5. When the Defendant was contacted, the officer could smell the odor of alco- hol and noted the Defend- ant's slurred speech. Also inside the Defendant's ve- hicle were her 4 children. Sentenced to 2 years State Prison People vs. Johnathan Mendez, Possession of Al- cohol in Jail. Brief history: The De- fendant ignored a guard's order to put on a shirt be- fore going into the sally port at the jail. When the Defendant was in the yard, he was put against the wall and handcuffed. The De- fendant showed signs of intoxication and smelled of alcohol. Inside the Defend- ant's cell, Officers located a bag of home-made alcohol. The Defendant admitted. Sentenced to 2 years State Prison People vs. Jeremy Law- rence, Failure to Register. Brief history: The De- fendant failed to register per his 290 requirements monthly as he was a tran- sient. The Defendant had a recent prior conviction for the same offense. Sentenced to 16 months State Prison Recent County Jail Commitments: People vs. Richard Lo- gan, Receiving Stolen Property; Motor Vehicle; Giving False Information to a Peace Officer. Brief history: Officers were dispatched to an in- dividual walking down Highway 36. When the De- fendant was contacted, he provided a false name to the officers. When officers searched the back pack he was wearing, they located several items of drug par- aphernalia, a container of liquid heroin and mail be- longing to several individ- uals. They also located a vehicle the Defendant had abandoned on Highway 36 after it ran out of gas; which he stated he had traded for drugs. Sentenced to 120 days county jail. People vs. Bryon Ander- son, Corporal Injury to Spouse or Cohabitant. Brief history: The De- fendant and the victim were at home, when an argument ensued. The Defendant shoved the victim against the wall and choked her. When the victim got away, the Defendant hit her arm leaving marks. The victim was able to get away, and the Defendant was taken to jail and booked. Sentenced to 60 days county jail. People vs. Michelle No- land, Identity Theft; Sec- ond Degree Commercial Burglary — 7 counts; Pos- session of Marijuana For Sale; Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle; Second Degree Commercial Burglary. Brief history: The vic- tim filed a report with the agency stating the Defend- ant had stolen her account information and purchased several items, including a vehicle. The Defendant had stolen over $20,000 of the victim's money. When a search warrant was served on the Defendant at her home in the previously listed case, officers found several drug items. They lo- cated several flats of mari- juana clones, 62 marijuana plants, and 4.6 pounds of concentrated cannabis. Officers responded to the Head Start Office on the re- port of a burglary and one of their vehicles stolen. The Defendant was seen driving the stolen vehicle. She was arrested and booked into the jail. Sentenced to 90 days county jail for each case. People vs. Justin Van- dyke, Grand Theft; Posses- sion of a Controlled Sub- stance. Brief history: The De- fendant was seen on a property, without permis- sion, several times where numerous amounts of metal has been reported stolen. The Defendant was contacted after being on the property after brass fitting, metal and radiators had been stolen. Inside the Defendant's vehicle offic- ers located the items. The Defendant was arrested for prowling at Oak Creek Golf course. While being searched officers located 6 grams of methampheta- mine in his pocket. Sentenced to 120 days county jail. People vs. Pablo Gal- van, Maintaining a Place For Selling or Using a Con- trolled Substance. Brief history: A search warrant was served on a property where the De- fendant was located. Of- ficers found 350 pounds of processed marijuana and over 1000 pounds of mar- ijuana hanging for drying on the property. The De- fendant had employed 12 other individuals to help maintain and harvest the plants. Sentenced to 90 days county jail. People vs. Rebekah Tay- lor, Child Abuse; Possession of a Stun Gun by a Felon. Brief history: The De- fendant was originally granted 4 years formal probation. She violated that probation by failing to report to her probation officer and failing to obey all laws. She was found to be in possession of a stun gun. Probation was rein- stated with additional jail time. Sentenced to 270 days county jail. People vs. Keri Fox, As- sault with a Deadly Weapon. Brief history: The De- fendant ran her vehicle into the back of a car carrying the victim and their two year old child and a friend. The vehicles were travelling about 25 mph, but abruptly stopped for a traffic light. When contacted by offic- ers, the Defendant was very combative and had to be taken down to the ground, where she was arrested. Sentenced to 270 days county jail. People vs. Bounma Phas- adeung, Cultivation of Mar- ijuana. Brief history: The De- fendant and his compan- ion were found on a prop- erty where a search warrant was served in Cottonwood. They found 3 gardens with total of 277 plants at the lo- cation. Defendant admitted to maintaining the plants and was booked into the jail. Sentenced to 90 days county jail. People vs. Bounmy Dad- ivongsone, Cultivation of Marijuana. Brief history: The De- fendant and his compan- ion were found on a prop- erty where a search warrant was served in Cottonwood. They found 3 gardens with total of 277 plants at the lo- cation. Defendant admitted to maintaining the plants and was booked into the jail. Sentenced to 90 days county jail. Upcoming Court Dates -Trials, Preliminary Hearings (PX) & Pre Trial Conferences (PTC): People vs. Quentin Ray Bealer, Murder. Brief history: Defendant was arrested and charged with the murder of a 14 year old victim who had been re- ported missing when she never returned home from school. Officers located the victim's body two days later. PTC/MIL: Aug. 14 and Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. TBJ: Sept. 28 at 8 a.m. Department to be deter- mined People vs. Joseph Cad- otte, Voluntary Manslaugh- ter with Special Allegation Prior Any Felony; Battery with Serious Bodily Injury with Special Allegation Prior Any Felony Brief history: The De- fendant saw the victim walking down the street, when he approached him and punched him. The vic- tim fell to the ground where the Defendant continued to punch and kick the victim. The victim later died. PTC/MIL: July 10 at 11 a.m. TBJ: July 22 at 1:30 p.m. Department to be deter- mined People vs. Travis John Kilburger, Solicitation of Murder (2 counts) Brief history: Defendant was in custody on domes- tic violence charges when he solicited another inmate to kill two individuals in ex- change for cash and a ve- hicle. PTC/MIL: Aug. 3 at 1:15 p.m. and Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. TBJ: Sept. 23 at 1:30 p.m. Department to be deter- mined People vs. Poly Duenas Sanchez, Lucio Nenecia Madera, Gabino Madera, Murder with Special Alle- gation Personal and Inten- tional Discharge of a Fire- arm, GBI, Conspiracy to Commit a Crime with Spe- cial Allegation Personal and Intentional Discharge of a Firearm, GBI. Brief history: Victim had met up with the three de- fendants regarding money that was allegedly owed to the victim. During this confrontation the victim was chased down and shot twice with a shotgun. The victim died as a result of his injuries. PX PTC: July 13 at 10 a.m. in Department 1 Preliminary Hearing: July 14 at 1:30 p.m. in De- partment 2 People vs. Roger Sandy Bounnhaseng, Alan Duane Doulphus Jr., Chase Alan Doulphus: Murder, special allegation felony murder, personal and intentional, use of a firearm, assault with a firearm, false impris- onment by violence, trans- portation of marijuana. Brief history: The de- fendants went to a res- idence that contained a marijuana grow. The de- fendants confronted the victim and two other men who were at the residence and ordered them to the ground at gunpoint. The defendants proceeded to tie up the victim and the two men with zip ties and duct tape. The victim was able to free himself and at- tempt to flee the residence but was shot several times by the armed defendants. The victim eventually suc- cumbed to his injuries. Defendant's vehicle was located a short time later and a vehicle pursuit fol- lowed. Defendant's were eventually apprehended and taken into custody. Inside the vehicle officers located a large amount of marijuana.
