Wednesday, January 18, 2012 – Daily News 5A Commerce business The face of Tehama County 'branding' could be yours Next week in the Red Bluff Bull & Gelding Sale exhibitors and vendors hall, at least, the Red Bluff- Tehama County Chamber of Commerce has arranged for booth space to talk up Tehama County to sale visitors, many of which are from out- side the area. Big thanks to Rolling Hills Casino, Durango RV Resort, Lassen Vol- canic National Park, the Red Bluff Round-Up Associa- tion and Tehama – The Magazine for covering the cost of the booth rental. Lassen Park is sending a ranger to talk up the park and its wonders, and will likely have one or more displays, as the Round-Up Museum may as well. Now all we need are volunteers from local business- es and organizations to talk to visitors about the many things to see and do in this wonderful region we're blessed to call home. The wineries in Manton, olives and oil in Corning, fruits and nuts in Dairyville, fishing on the Sacramento River, historic Victorians in Red Bluff – you get the idea. Volunteers working the booth will help serve hot cider and sell hand-warmers. The booth will need staffing from noon Wednesday Jan. 25 to 7 p.m. Saturday Jan. 28. If you work for or run a business that benefits from visitor traffic and you support the prospect that tourism development can be the cornerstone for broader economic development, here's your chance to invest in that – with just the offer of a few hours of your time. If you would like to help, call Chamber Events Chairwoman Lisa Hansen at 527-0727 or send an email to Lisa.Hansen@ExpressPros.com. The National Labor Relations Board has post- poned the effective date of its employee rights notice- posting rule until April 30. Most private-sector Labor Board delays poster requirement until April 30 poster requirement. employers must post a new notice issued by the NLRB titled "Employee Rights Under the National Labor Relations Act." This poster requirement was scheduled to be implemented on Jan. 31, but on December 23, 2011 the NLRB delayed implementation in response to a request by a federal court judge hearing a legal challenge to the The National Associa- tion of Manufacturers has challenged the poster requirement on multiple grounds. This is the second time that the NLRB has delayed implementation. Because this issue remains in litigation, there is a chance that this posting deadline will be delayed one more time The poster must be placed in a conspicuous place readily seen by employees. Employers must post the notice on an intranet or Internet site if personnel rules and poli- cies are customarily posted there. Requirements for print- ing the poster in languages other than English if more than 20 percent of employ- ees speak that other lan- guage also are detailed. The notice is similar to one the U.S. Department of Labor requires for feder- al contractors.
