Come Home to ATW Save the Date—October 3 T he Iowa Gamma Upsilon Chapter and the Corporation Board are inviting all alumni back to Ames for the 150th Anniversary of ATW celebration on October 3. It's the perfect opportunity to come back to Ames, catch a game, connect with friends, and to celebrate the 150th anniversary of our grand fraternity. Call up your pledge brothers and organize a reunion! Let's make this a really successful Homecoming weekend. Put it on your schedule, and I hope to see you there. For everyone who has checked the Cyclone football schedule, October 3 is the Kansas game. The official ISU Homecoming game is October 31 against Texas. Justification for moving the date up to October 3 is so we can avoid the Homecoming rush, it should be warmer, Kansas is an easier opponent than Texas, and October 31 is Halloween. Alumni with young children may not have been able to attend if we held the event on October 31. The schedule is a little fluid right now, with no official kick-off time available, but here are a few of the planned events. A golf event on Friday, tee off at noon. Friday night, a non-hosted dinner to be held somewhere in Ames or maybe at the house. We are renting a tent by the stadium for a tailgate with plenty of food, desserts, and beverages. More information and an RSVP form will be sent out later this summer. If you have any questions, please contact me. Fraternally, Rolf Hansen '74 House Corporation Board rhansenato@gmail.com houSe corporation welcomeS new Board memBerS T he Corporation Board is undergoing some exciting new changes. A youth movement has taken place. I would first like to take this opportunity to thank Bill Burke '74, Jon Weintz '74, Don Clark '93, Corey DePenning '95, Jerry Roche '96, and Jonathon Schroeder '07 for their service to ATW and the Gamma Upsilon Chapter. Together they have 120 years of experience, and we will do our best to fill the very big shoes left by these devoted brothers. Seven new members have joined the board. Dan Olson '05, Chris Robson '02, Sean Clement '07, Adam Test '08, Michael Nelson '08, Ben Sparks '07, and myself are very excited to have joined. These brothers held multiple positions in the fraternity and on campus during their time at Iowa State and are bringing a renewed enthusiasm and energy to the board. They join current board members Rolf Hansen '74 and Chapter Advisor John Banister '08. Our campaign, Preserving Our Past, Foundation for the Future, is in its final stage. When planning where you are going to make your charitable contributions this year, please consider making a donation to the ATW house. New houses and remodels are being built all around us. To recruit the best men, we must have a comparable facility. I would like to thank the alumni for all their support this year. The Gamma Upsilon Chapter is strong and healthy. I believe they are one good spring quarter grade report away from earning another True Merit Award. As I assume this new responsibility, I welcome the opportunity to speak with you. Please e-mail or call with any questions or comments.
