hosts in an effort to accommodate the desires of all the hosts and guests who want to participate. "Some houses are fancy, some are more modest," Williams said. "Some hosts even make their own food just to save money for the CARE Clinic. Some even get a group of their friends and just go out to dinner and then donate $75 per person to the Clinic." Last year 52 Ft. Bragg soldiers or the spouses of deployed soldiers were sponsored to attend by an anonymous donor. This year the CARE Clinic ex- pects soldiers to attend again and plans to serve more than 700 meals in all to Evening of Care guests. Some of the homes where the din- ners will be held are already fully booked but others still have space available, Gregory said. Anyone inter- ested in attending can call the CARE clinic to inquire about purchasing tick- ets, she said. "It's great fun, a wonderful ambience and everyone is so friendly," Gregory said. The CARE Clinic is also looking for volunteers to help with the services provided by the Clinic and with future fundraising and other efforts. Though dental and medical professionals are es- pecially needed, the Clinic can use help from anyone, said Cathy Ory, who has been the Clinic's director for 10 years. In June the CARE Clinic is bring- ing the Missions of Mercy two-day free dental clinic to the Expo Center. The economic recession has meant that more people have lost their jobs and their health insurance and now rely on the CARE Clinic to meet their needs, Ory said. She said volunteers are need- ed to help with a variety of Clinic func- tions and that monetary and material donations are also always appreciated. "We truly feel that the reason we are so blessed during these hard times is that God is watching over us," Williams said. "We have tremendous support from many churches in Fayetteville."
