Sends Wrong Message
Dear Editor,
You made a poor choice on
the front cover (Nov. 18) photo
showing a Fayetteville Fire Antz
player and another player fighting.
Not only that — you showed that
photo twice.
I understand you want to play
up the word "fury" so yes, as it's
definition states its a "violent
rage" so you matched the picture
with the correct word but is this
what you really wanted to say?
I believe the Fire Antz take
great pains to promote their
hockey team as a great activity
to do with your family but this
photo really turns my stomach at
the mentality of the players that I
would be seeing.
I don't buy into the argument
that fighting and hockey go
together. They are grown men
playing a kids' game. They should
keep their emotions in check.
I thought Up & Coming had
better judgement.

Dear Editor,
Thank you for putting into
words what the majority of us
think and feel. It seems that so
much of America has no sense of
morality or conscience anymore.
The sad thing is those of us
that feel outrage at this are so
busy working to pay our taxes and
raising families that we have no
time to organize any effort.
I write my congressional
leaders and get back "form"
email responses thanking me for
my effort but feel it is going on
deaf ears.
So keep up the work and at
least it lets us know SOMEONE
understands how we feel.
